About the role

Who we are

Odyssey is an AI lab pioneering general world models: causal, multimodal systems that learn to predict and interact with the world over long horizons. This foundational technology promises to revolutionize robotics, science, healthcare, education, gaming, defense, and beyond.

Odyssey’s founders previously pioneered the most complex application of physical AI: self-driving cars. They’ve now brought together a world-class research team from DeepMind, Tesla, Waymo, Meta, Apple, and Wayve, who have made significant contributions to language models (DeepMind Gemini), video models (DeepMind Veo), world models (Wayve GAIA), and autonomous systems (Tesla FSD).

Odyssey has raised significant venture capital from GV, Amazon, AMD, EQT, NVIDIA, Natural Capital, In-Q-Tel, Elad Gil, Jeff Dean, Guillermo Rauch, Garry Tan, Kyle Vogt, and researchers from OpenAI, DeepMind, MSL, Recursive, and Thinking Machines.

What we're looking for

Odyssey is seeking a Talent & Operations Coordinator to sit at the center of how we hire and how we run. This is a high-impact, hands-on role for someone who is exceptionally organized, proactive, low-ego, and energized by keeping a lot of moving parts on track. You'll own the recruiting logistics that give every candidate a world-class experience, support our founders, leaders and Recruiting team so they can stay focused on building, and help create the systems that keep a fast-growing company running smoothly. This role is based in our Palo Alto office and requires being in person at least 3 days a week.

You'll join a frontier AI lab during a period of rapid growth. This is a front-row seat to company-building, with the chance to shape how Odyssey hires, onboards and operates as we scale.

What you'll do

  • Own interview scheduling and coordination across teams and time zones, including virtual and in-person interviews and candidate travel.
  • Serve as the main Coordination point of contact for candidates, making sure every person who interviews with Odyssey has a fast, thoughtful, high-touch experience.
  • Keep our ATS and recruiting workflows accurate and current, from scheduling to feedback collection to pipeline tracking.
  • Partner with recruiters and hiring managers to improve recruiting processes and coordination systems.
  • Run new-hire onboarding so people are set up to contribute from day one.
  • Plan and coordinate team events, offsites and office logistics.
  • Document internal processes, run people and operations programs, and jump into high-priority projects wherever you're needed.

Who you are

  • Experience in recruiting coordination, executive support, HR/people operations, or team operations.
  • Experience in a high-growth startup or similarly fast-moving environment.
  • Exceptional organization, time management and attention to detail, with the ability to juggle many priorities at once.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a warm, professional presence with candidates, leaders and visitors.
  • A strong sense of ownership. When you see a problem, your instinct is to solve it rather than figure out whose job it is.
  • Comfortable operating in ambiguity, moving quickly, and building lightweight processes where none exist.
  • Hands-on experience with ATS, CRM and project management tools (we use Ashby), plus Slack and calendar/email systems.
  • Bonus: experience supporting founders or senior leaders.
  • Bonus: event planning, office management or team-building experience.
  • Bonus: experience using AI tools to make your own workflows faster and sharper.

Our staff is expected to be in office at least three times a week. A lot of our progress comes from working through problems together, and we want you in the room for that.
