About the role

About BMD

BMD is Australia’s leading integrated engineering, construction and urban development business, with foundations built on the family values that underpin our unique, collaborative approach.

Driven by a purpose of powering futures and creating enduring legacies through a commitment to collaboration, BMD is delivering infrastructure solutions that connect and transform communities. With a proud history beginning in 1979, BMD now employs 2,400 people throughout Australia, the Philippines and United Kingdom.

About the role

We're seeking an experienced Civil Superintendent to join our team on major resources projects across regional WA. Working a 2:1 FIFO roster, you'll lead Supervisors, Engineers and site teams to safely deliver large-scale civil works while driving productivity, quality and project performance.

With responsibility for multiple work fronts, stakeholder relationships and overall delivery outcomes, you'll play a critical role in shaping project success through strong leadership and planning.

Join Australia's largest privately owned civil contractor and build your career delivering landmark projects across Western Australia.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the safe and successful delivery of major civil construction works.
  • Provide leadership, coaching and support to Supervisors, Engineers and project teams.
  • Drive short, medium and long-term planning to optimise project performance.
  • Coordinate resources, subcontractors and stakeholders across multiple work fronts.
  • Manage client relationships and contribute to effective project communication and reporting.
  • Champion a high-performance culture focused on safety, quality, productivity and accountability.
  • Identify and proactively manage construction risks, constraints and opportunities.
  • Ensure project outcomes are delivered in accordance with contract requirements, budgets and schedules.

About you

You're an accomplished FIFO construction leader with extensive experience delivering complex civil infrastructure or resources projects. You bring a practical, visible leadership style and have a proven ability to build high-performing teams, develop frontline leaders and consistently deliver results in challenging environments.

You thrive on taking ownership, solving problems and creating a culture where people are engaged, accountable and focused on achieving project success.

  • Previous experience as a Superintendent or similar leadership role on major civil construction projects.
  • Strong understanding of project delivery, construction methodology and site operations.
  • Proven ability to lead and mentor Supervisors, Engineers and multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Demonstrated experience managing subcontractors, stakeholders and client relationships.
  • Excellent planning, coordination and decision-making skills.
  • Strong commercial awareness and understanding of project performance drivers.
  • Unwavering commitment to safety leadership and quality outcomes.
  • Experience delivering roads, earthworks, bulk earthworks, mining infrastructure or major civil projects in FIFO environments highly regarded.
