About the role

Clara is the leading platform in Latin America for companies to execute and manage every payment operation. More than 50,000 leading and fast-growing businesses run on our corporate cards, bill pay, financing and B2B payments, and in 2025 the Financial Times named Clara the region’s fastest-growing company. We’re passionate about helping every company we work with become more effective—and, through that, raising the region’s competitiveness. We’re ~400 people, backed by Notable Capital, Coatue, Kaszek, monashees, DST Global, ICONIQ, General Catalyst and Goldman Sachs, among others.

We are seeking a highly motivated and analytical Strategic Finance Expert to join our dynamic finance team. You will play a key role in developing and shaping our business and financial strategy, as well as executing on a number of high-impact cross-functional initiatives at the company.

You will help us better understand our business model to drive continuous improvement of KPIs, collaborate with business partners to evaluate the ROI of products, features, and initiatives and leverage AI to develop dashboards and analytical tools that will guide the executive team.

This position presents a rare opportunity for accelerated professional growth and development, regular exposure to Clara’s leadership team, and the chance to make an impact on B2B financial services in Latin America.

We’re prioritizing applicants based in Mexico City and São Paulo.

Responsibilities:

Strategic finance

  • Maintain Clara's consolidated corporate finance model, including updates to monthly forecasts, financial KPIs, balance sheet, and cash flow projections.
  • Drive financial and operational efficiencies by improving processes and ensuring accurate financial reporting and analysis.
  • Oversee and monitor SG&A, ensuring budget alignment and driving cost efficiencies and process optimization.

New business initiatives

  • Build business cases including TAM analysis and financial projections to support new product launches and feature releases, prioritizing projects based on highest ROI.
  • Develop reporting and dashboards to advise and inform the finance team and executive leadership on new product performance.
  • Conduct ad hoc financial analysis including unit economics, working capital management, cash flow forecasting, and customer acquisition efficiency models.

Business partner strategic analysis

  • Work closely with global and local leadership teams, providing financial insights to influence strategic business decisions that improve financial performance, including internal business review and planning materials.
  • Act as a business partner by supporting sales, growth, product, and other teams with data-driven recommendations.
  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders across the organization.

Investor relations

  • Support preparation of board packs, investor updates, and associated financial reporting.
  • Build and update data room materials for equity and debt fundraising purposes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, business, or a related field.
  • 3 - 4 years of experience in investment banking, venture capital, management consulting (MBB preferred), FP&A, strategic finance, and / or data science. Experience in startups or fintech is a plus.
  • You are already an active user of the latest and greatest AI tools, building custom workflows, dashboards, and applications for complex financial analysis.
  • You can also build scalable, efficient, and intuitive financial models in Excel with ease.
  • Highly results-driven with strong organizational skills, a collaborative mindset, and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage multiple time-sensitive priorities simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with experience preparing materials and analysis for executive-level audiences.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English as well as Spanish or Portuguese is required.

Where we work

This is a hybrid role: you'll split your time between the office, customers and home. We don't set a minimum number of office days for most roles — you'll spend time in the office naturally, and most days during your ramp-up or when your leader asks.

Why Clara

  • A high talent-density team driven to make an impact in Latin America — low ego, high ownership.
  • Competitive salary and stock options (ESOP) from day one.
  • An annual learning budget and accelerated development paths.
  • English is our working language, with Spanish and Portuguese every day.

How we work

  • Clarity — Open and direct communication: we say what we mean and give context where it matters.
  • Simplicity — If it can be simpler, it should be.
  • Ownership — We own everything we do, end to end. When something needs to happen, we don't wait.
  • Pride — We hold ourselves to a high standard, and it shows in what we deliver.
  • ABC (Always Be Changing) — We adapt fast, embrace change, and keep learning.
  • Inclusivity — Diverse ideas, stories and perspectives build a better Clara.

If you meet the must-haves, apply — the nice-to-haves are a bonus, not a requirement.
