About the role

About the role

The Statewide Program Coordinator, Clinical Safety and Quality provides leadership in service quality improvement, patient safety and clinical governance across the Queensland Forensic Mental Health Service (QFMHS). This role is responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining governance frameworks focused on safety, quality, risk management and evidence-based service delivery, while supporting a culture of reliability and continuous improvement across forensic mental health services.

Working collaboratively with clinical teams, Hospital and Health Services and statewide stakeholders, you will lead quality and safety initiatives, coordinate service improvement projects, support accreditation and compliance activities, and provide expert advice on clinical governance. The role also supports best-practice incident management, workforce capability development and the delivery of safe, high-quality forensic mental health services across Queensland.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:

  • Lead and coordinate quality, patient safety, risk management and service improvement initiatives using contemporary project management, change management and evaluation methodologies.
  • Partner with clinical teams and stakeholders to strengthen quality assurance, governance, audit and compliance processes, ensuring alignment with relevant healthcare standards and frameworks.
  • Provide education, mentoring and coaching to staff and leaders on clinical quality, patient safety, incident management and continuous improvement practices.
  • Analyse complex clinical, safety and risk data to identify improvement opportunities and support evidence-based decision-making across forensic mental health services.
  • Support end-to-end clinical incident management processes, promote a restorative and learning culture, and facilitate the sharing of safety learnings to improve consumer outcomes.

Benefits when working for us

  • Rewarding career and development opportunities across a wide range of clinical and non-clinical areas
  • Value driven organisation which provides a work environment that is safe, satisfying, flexible, and promotes a healthy work-life balance
  • Flexible working arrangements and competitive salary rates with annual incremental increases
  • Benefit from a higher than standard employer contribution to Superannuation of up to 12.75% and access to salary packaging
