About the role
Place Showroom is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our accounting team. We’re looking for someone who is organized, analytical, proactive, and eager to contribute to a fast-paced, collaborative environment while ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the Company’s financial records. In this role, you will support a broad range of accounting functions—including, journal entries, expense reporting, account analysis and reconciliations, and AR/AP—to ensure efficient daily operations and adherence to GAAP, month end close requirements, and internal policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and post journal entries as part of the monthly close process
- Perform and analyze account reconciliations and investigate variances
- Prepare monthly sales and use tax filing
- Review employee expense reports for compliance with company policies
- Reconcile and administer company credit card accounts
- Maintain fixed asset schedules and record depreciation
- Analyze general ledger activity and resolve discrepancies
- Accounts payable processes and vendor statement reconciliations. Maintain relationships with vendors
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations, including bank reconciliations, prepaid expenses, and accruals
- Respond to employee and vendor inquiries in a timely, professional, and solution oriented manner
- Provide support to the Accounting Manager and Controller as needed
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Minimum of 2+ years of professional accounting experience
- Advanced proficiency in Excel
- Strong written communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong time management abilities

- Experience with QuickBooks Online (QBO) is a plus
- Familiarity with the retail or fashion industry is an advantage
