About the role

The Senior Manager, Clinical Operations leads day-to-day operations across Salma Health clinics and manages the Clinical Operations Managers and Practice Managers who run them. This leader is also responsible for the growth side of clinical operations: opening new clinics, integrating acquired practices, and improving provider/patient operations. Reporting to the head of Clinical Operations, this role covers the work that sits between clinic leadership and the executive team, and builds the processes, people, and measures that let Salma Health grow while maintaining excellent care, patient experience, and metrics.

This is a remote position with travel to our clinics and other company offices as needed to support operations and new clinic openings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Clinic Management
  • Oversee daily operations at every clinic, including staffing, schedules and rosters, procurement, vendor management, and facilities, so that patient care and patient experience are consistent from site to site.
  • Lead, coach, and develop the Practice Managers across the clinic network. Set clear expectations, hire and plan for succession, and build a bench of future leaders.
  • Provider management:
  • Set clear expectations and performance targets for providers in close coordination with Clinical Leadership, ensuring alignment across patient access, care quality, and productivity standards.
  • Set readiness plans, ramp-up expectations, and performance targets for each new clinic, so that access, quality, and patient experience meet standards from the first day. Stay closely involved until the clinic is running steadily.
  • Drives continuous improvement initiatives in patient throughput, provider schedule density, and compliance.
  • General Operations/Workflow management
  • Standardize workflows, scheduling, procurement, reporting, staffing models, and SOPs across the network, while adapting to local needs. Keep every site in line with regulatory, safety, and accreditation requirements.
  • Set and manage clinic-level and network-level performance measures and dashboards, including visit utilization, no-show rates, documentation turnaround times, provider utilization, access and throughput, patient satisfaction, and financial results. Report results and corrective plans to the Leadership Team
  • Oversee the implementation and routine management of operational dashboards and key performance tracking measures across all clinic sites.
  • Work with Clinical Leadership, Finance, Growth, and Marketing to match clinic capacity and provider availability to patient demand. Build demand forecasts, provider capacity models, and staffing plans.
  • Manage clinic operating budgets and P&Ls, including operating spend, vendor contracts, and equipment leases, within the spending authority set by the Clinical Leadership.
  • Run improvement projects in patient flow, scheduling, throughput, and compliance.
  • Growth
  • Works in close alignment with Head of Clinical Operations and Central Strategy to operationalize growth targets
  • Lead new clinic openings from start to finish: site selection, buildout, licensing, regulatory compliance, staffing, procurement, scheduling, IT and EMR setup, and patient flow.
  • Coordinates operational integration for acquired practices and oversees regional de novo site ramp-up trajectories
  • Collaboration
  • Act as the link between clinic teams, clinical leadership, legal, Product, and other central teams. Give direct feedback on tools, the EHR, and processes, and support the rollout of new technology.
  • Build a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and a patient-first mindset across the clinic network.

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of progressive healthcare operations experience, ideally in behavioral health, multi-site outpatient care, or other high-acuity settings, including experience leading operations across multiple sites.
  • Experience managing managers and teams across several clinic locations, with a record of strong results and low turnover.
  • Experience opening new clinics or practices and scaling them across a multi-site network.
  • Experience leading the integration of acquired practices and managing change during periods of rapid growth.
  • Working knowledge of healthcare staffing and scheduling models, procurement, vendor management, and facilities.
  • Working knowledge of healthcare regulatory and payer requirements, and experience keeping operations compliant and financially sustainable.
  • Experience setting KPIs and building dashboards, managing operating budgets, and using data to manage performance.
  • Strong communication, organization, and project management skills, and comfort working in a high-growth or startup setting.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree (MHA, MBA, MPH, or MSN).
  • Experience building or scaling patient access, contact center, referral management, or centralized intake functions in a growing healthcare organization.
  • Experience in behavioral health, IOP, or interventional psychiatry settings, such as TMS or Spravato programs.
  • Mission-driven leadership experience in a high-growth healthcare company, with the ability to build systems while the organization is changing quickly.
