Speech Pathologist Up to Full-time 2x Ongoing positions available (Horsham & Warrnambool offices)

About Us

The Diocese of Ballarat Catholic Education Limited (DOBCEL) governs 56 Catholic primary and secondary schools and supports six Diocesan secondary colleges across Western Victoria — from the Murray to the sea.

Guided by our DOBCEL Strategy 2035, we are responding thoughtfully to the changing needs of our communities and the challenges facing education today. Rooted in our Catholic faith and tradition, we are rethinking and renewing Catholic education so that every child can experience fullness of life through learning, belonging, and faith.

Our work is grounded in five strategic pillars: Collaborative Cultures, Engagement and Belonging, School as Community, Rich Pedagogical Practices for Deeper Learning and Wellbeing, and Sustainable Stewardship. These principles shape how we work together in partnership across schools and the wider community.

About the Role

This full-time position presents the opportunity to work in an interdisciplinary manner in a variety of educational settings alongside highly motivated colleagues from the Wellbeing Team. The DOBCEL Speech Pathology Team adheres to practices recommended by Speech Pathology Australia by engaging in different models of practice including tele-practice.

Working in our diocesan schools is deeply meaningful, highly rewarding, challenging, and dynamic and gives you the opportunity to make a positive contribution to the life of children and young people, their families, schools, and communities.

The Speech Pathologist works collaboratively with the broader Catholic Education Team and schools to promote inclusive practices and strengthen the ability to identify and effectively support students with diverse learning requirements.

  • Collaborate with teachers, school leaders, and learning support staff to develop and review personalised learning plans and participate in PSGs
  • Contribute to Diocesan speech initiatives, including Foundation screening, data analysis, and MTSS-informed responses across schools
  • Support school-based speech programs, deliver professional learning, and maintain accurate documentation in line with professional and legal standards

Benefits

  • a competitive salary with salary progression.
  • gifted leave above and beyond annual leave on an annual basis.
  • opportunity for flexible working arrangements.
  • professional development and learning opportunities.
