About the role

As a Senior Speech Pathologist (Paediatrics), you will deliver high-level, contemporary speech pathology services to infants, children and their families across a diverse range of specialised clinical areas at Caboolture Hospital. This includes responsibility for the outpatient paediatric videofluoroscopic swallow study (VFSS) clinic, post-acute feeding clinic, inpatient neonatal feeding services, and developmental screening and diagnostic services within the outpatient paediatric allied health clinic.

In this senior clinical role, you will provide expert assessment, intervention and consultancy services while promoting integrated, holistic and evidence-based care. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams, lead service development initiatives, support clinical education and staff development, and contribute to the planning, implementation and evaluation of speech pathology services to enhance patient outcomes and service delivery.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:

  • Deliver advanced speech pathology assessment, diagnosis and intervention services for paediatric and neonatal patients with complex feeding, swallowing and communication needs.
  • Provide expert clinical advice and consultancy to health professionals, managers, families and stakeholders regarding speech pathology management and service delivery.
  • Lead and support videofluoroscopic swallow studies (VFSS), specialised feeding services and developmental screening programs to improve patient outcomes.
  • Provide professional supervision, education and mentorship to speech pathologists, students and support staff to build clinical capability and maintain professional standards.
  • Drive service improvement, research and quality initiatives that enhance evidence-based practice and support the ongoing development of paediatric speech pathology services.

  • Benefit from a higher than standard employer contribution to Superannuation of up to 12.75% and access to salary packaging
