About the role

Tigera secures AI agents on any Kubernetes platform, from the kernel with eBPF. With Tigera Lynx, enterprises run AI agents in production and stay in control: Lynx discovers every agent, governs every call, contains any agent that steps out of line, and keeps a record of what each one did.

Tigera created Project Calico, which secures more than 8 million Kubernetes nodes every day, and the commercial Calico platform is trusted by Global 2000 enterprises including NVIDIA, Royal Bank of Canada, Chipotle, Bloomberg, and GoDaddy.

If you are looking to help make a substantial impact, and our values and products align with your vision of your career growth, we want to hear from you!

About Your Role

We are looking for passionate and skilled software engineers to join us in our mission to secure the next generation of cloud-native applications and AI workloads. Calico Open Source defines the gold standard for application connectivity within large-scale cloud environments, such as Kubernetes, OpenShift, and related technologies. Building upon this open-source foundation, our commercial products help enterprises build and operate cloud-native applications and infrastructures, securely and at scale.

You will be joining a team that is highly engineering-focused with a culture that values diversity, collaboration, agility, and innovation, keeping us one step ahead in the exciting and fast moving cloud-native technology space.

You Will

  • Be an active member of an engineering team working on Calico Enterprise and Calico OSS releases
  • Design and build Kubernetes networking and network security features in Go across Calico's control plane
  • Work directly with customers and the Calico open source community to solve their hardest networking problems, from first report to merged solution
  • Own the full lifecycle of your features, from design through coding, testing, and release, using AI tools and automation to move faster and cut repetitive work

You Have

  • 5+ years of product-oriented software engineering experience
  • Strong networking experience on Linux and in Kubernetes
  • Hands-on experience with Golang (preferred) and/or C, C++, Java
  • Experience in developing products with a focus on L2/L3 networking, L4-L7 network functions, and network security
  • A BS in CS or related/similar degree (equivalent experience may suffice)

Nice-to-Have

  • Experience or familiarity with any of these technologies: Istio, Envoy, CNI, or OpenStack
  • Experience with eBPF
  • Experience building automation or AI agents that make engineering teams more productive
  • Experience developing, securing, or operating cloud-scale applications or infrastructure

With offices in San Francisco, San Jose, Vancouver (Canada), Cork (Ireland), and London (England), we have a thriving team of diverse individuals from all over the world. We believe in a collaborative, flexible work environment based on respect for, and commitment from, every employee. We also offer a competitive compensation package along with full health, vision, and dental benefits. These benefits, coupled with an amazing team of individuals who believe in our mission and value openness, collaboration, and teamwork, make Tigera an awesome place to work.
