About the role

Our client in Telford & Wrekin is seeking an experienced Senior Social Worker to join their Adult Safeguarding Team.

This role focuses on managing a professional social work caseload within an Asset-Based and Community-Led Support framework, supporting adults with complex needs while safeguarding their wellbeing and promoting independence.

You will play a key role in assessment, support planning, safeguarding activity, and risk management, while actively contributing to weekly peer review forums to influence decision-making and ensure high-quality practice.

This position is ideal for a confident practitioner who is experienced in safeguarding, thrives on autonomous working, and can design creative, person-centred solutions that maximise community resources rather than relying on traditional care packages.

What will your responsibilities be?

  • Undertaking Care Act 2014 assessments, reviews, and support planning, with a strong focus on strengths-based and asset-based approaches.
  • Leading and contributing to safeguarding enquiries and risk management, including working within relevant legal frameworks.
  • Completing Mental Capacity Assessments (MCA) and contributing to Best Interest decisions and Court of Protection processes where required.
  • Actively participating in weekly peer review meetings, contributing professional insight and influencing final decisions made by the Team Manager.
  • Developing person-centred, innovative support plans, using community assets and avoiding “off-the-shelf” solutions.
  • Building and maintaining strong professional relationships with individuals, carers, families, and partner agencies.
  • Working collaboratively with multi-agency partners, including health, voluntary sector, and internal council services.
  • Maintaining accurate and high-quality case recording, reports, and documentation, including legal documentation where required.
  • Undertaking duty responsibilities on a rota basis, responding to urgent safeguarding concerns.
  • Applying professional curiosity and evidence-based practice to effectively assess and manage risk.
