Senior Project Manager – Energy and Utilities Infrastructure

Location: Kingston

About Tiree

Tiree is one of Canada’s leading professional services firms, providing project management, real property advisory, and security and smart technologies services across the public and private sectors. Headquartered in Ottawa with a national reach, we have delivered more than $50 billion in complex building and infrastructure projects over the past 25 years. Our 300+ professionals work closely with owners, consultants, and contractors to keep projects on scope, on budget, and on schedule.

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead complex energy and utilities infrastructure projects from initiation through close-out. You will be the primary point of contact for owners and stakeholders, responsible for keeping scope, cost, schedule, and risk aligned across the project lifecycle. You’ll bring a strong understanding of how energy infrastructure is planned, built, and commissioned.

What you’ll do

  • Lead the planning, delivery, and close-out of energy and utilities infrastructure projects, from feasibility through commissioning and handover.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with project stakeholders, utilities, regulators and project stakeholders, and keep communication clear and consistent.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, budgets, and risk, and report progress clearly to clients and leadership.
  • Coordinate design, construction, and commissioning activities across multiple contractors, multidisciplinary consultants, and internal specialists.
  • Manage outage planning, shutdown windows, and operational constraints in close collaboration with client operations teams.
  • Oversee procurement, change control, and contract administration, including tender support and vendor performance.
  • Plan construction phases around equipment delivery, operational constraints and utility requirements, with a focus on maintaining uninterrupted service.
  • Ensure health, safety, environmental and regulatory requirements are understood and met across all phases of work.

What you bring

  • 10 years+ of project management experience on complex infrastructure projects, with significant experience in the energy or utilities sector.
  • Knowledge of Canadian codes, standards, and regulatory requirements for energy infrastructure.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering projects in or around live, operating electrical or energy facilities.
  • Strong working knowledge of project controls, scheduling, cost management, and risk management.
  • Experience managing multi-party delivery teams, including owners, consultants, and contractors.
  • Familiarity with various delivery models, procurement, tendering, and contract administration in a public or regulated environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present to senior leaders and technical audiences.
  • A Project Management Professional (PMP) designation is considered an asset

What We Offer

  • Contract role
  • Expected rate: $90 to $110 per hour. This range reflects the breadth of experience and expectations for the role. Final rates will be determined based on an individual’s skills, experience and demonstrated impact.
