For over 55 years ASM has been ahead of what’s next, at the forefront of innovation and what’s technologically possible. With more than 4,500 ASMers representing 70 nationalities, our people and our advanced semiconductor devices are playing a crucial role in trends such as 5G, cloud computing, AI, and autonomous driving. But we’re more than just a tech company. We value diversity, inclusion and sustainability as we strive to make a positive impact on the world. Our development programs help support your growth, shaping your future and pushing the boundaries of innovation to unleash potential.

As a Senior / Principal Engineer, Global Product Management, Global Spares & Services at ASM, you will play a critical role in defining and driving the strategy for our global spares and service offerings across a growing installed base of semiconductor manufacturing equipment. This role combines commercial strategy, product management, technical expertise, and customer engagement to maximize equipment uptime, process performance, customer satisfaction, and recurring revenue growth.

A key focus of this role is leveraging deep knowledge of ASM equipment, process applications, maintenance requirements, and installed-base performance to identify opportunities to improve process capability, increase tool availability and productivity, extend part lifetime, and reduce customers' cost of ownership. This includes developing spares, upgrade, refurbishment, and service offerings that enhance equipment performance, process stability, and operational efficiency. This is an opportunity to influence a global business, shape long-term growth strategies, and drive measurable impact for ASM and its customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Product Portfolio Ownership: Manage and optimize a global portfolio of spare parts, service products, and lifecycle support offerings across multiple equipment platforms.
  • Lifecycle Strategy: Develop strategies to maximize customer value and business growth throughout the equipment lifecycle, including serviceability, obsolescence management, upgrade paths, and end-of-life planning.
  • Roadmap Development: Define and maintain global spares and services roadmaps aligned with customer needs, installed base requirements, market trends, and business objectives.
  • Commercial Strategy: Partner with regional and global stakeholders to develop pricing strategies, service programs, and commercial models that drive profitable growth and customer retention.
  • Installed Base Analytics: Analyze equipment utilization, service demand, consumption patterns, and installed base trends to identify growth opportunities and improve forecasting accuracy.
  • Customer Engagement: Collaborate directly with customers to understand operational challenges, uptime requirements, and service expectations while translating insights into differentiated offerings.
  • Business Case Development: Build business cases and investment proposals for new services, upgrades, spare parts solutions, and digital service initiatives.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Drive alignment across engineering, service operations, supply chain, procurement, manufacturing, finance, and regional business teams to execute strategic initiatives.
  • Inventory & Supply Chain Optimization: Partner with operations and supply chain teams to improve spare parts availability, reduce lead times, and optimize global inventory strategies.
  • Service Product Introduction: Lead development and launch of new service offerings, lifecycle programs, and customer support solutions from concept through commercialization.
  • Market Intelligence & Competitive Analysis: Monitor industry trends, competitor service offerings, customer adoption patterns, and aftermarket best practices to inform portfolio strategy.
  • Sales Enablement & Product Promotion: Develop value propositions, customer presentations, training materials, and sales tools that support growth of ASM's spares and services business.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Engineering, Business, or a related technical field.
  • 8+ years (Senior) or 12+ years (Principal) of experience in product management, technical marketing, service product management, aftermarket business management, or related commercial roles within semiconductor equipment, industrial equipment, or high-technology industries.
  • Strong understanding of semiconductor capital equipment systems, field service operations, and equipment lifecycle management.
  • Experience managing spare parts, service products, maintenance programs, lifecycle services, upgrades, or aftermarket business portfolios.
  • Proven ability to develop product strategies, business cases, growth plans, and commercial models.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience leveraging installed base, revenue, forecasting, and customer data to drive decisions.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including experience presenting to customers and executive leadership.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence across global, cross-functional organizations without direct authority.
  • Experience with ALD, Epi, CVD, or semiconductor manufacturing equipment is highly desirable.
  • Willingness and ability to travel globally as required.
