About the role

Senior PNT Mission Architect

About Logos Space

Logos Space is building a proliferated Low Earth Orbit constellation to deliver resilient connectivity to enterprise and government users worldwide. Our Navigation team is developing the timing, navigation, and signal-generation capabilities that will enable our spacecraft to provide positioning, navigation, and timing (PNT) services.

Position Summary

We are hiring a Senior PNT Mission Architect to lead the technical definition of our PNT capabilities through direct engagement with customers, government users, and platform integrators. You will translate mission needs and operational problems into service concepts, concepts of operations, architectures, requirements, and evaluation criteria spanning the space segment, ground infrastructure, user equipment, and mission operations.

Your initial priority will be to establish which capabilities our users need, how they will integrate and use the service, and what evidence they need to evaluate it. Working with engineering leads, product teams, business development, and leadership, you will use these findings to shape the initial service and capability roadmap while the system is still being developed.

You will carry this work into engineering plans and lead selected integration and demonstration efforts. For assigned PNT capabilities and demonstrations, you will establish scope, milestones, dependencies, resource needs, and acceptance criteria with the responsible engineering leads. You will work across Mission Design & Navigation (MDN) and partner teams to resolve technical gaps and demonstrate the resulting capability.

We welcome engineers with backgrounds in assured PNT, mission architecture, systems engineering, complex system integration, and defense mission systems..

Responsibilities

  • Lead technical engagement with customer engineers, government users, operators, and platform integrators to understand priority missions, operating environments, PNT limitations, and integration constraints.
  • Develop PNT service concepts and concepts of operations. Work with product teams, business development, engineering leads, and leadership to recommend initial-service scope and capability priorities based on customer value, technical feasibility, and delivery capacity.
  • Translate operational needs into measurable system and subsystem requirements. Coordinate requirements derivation, allocation, traceability, and technical baselines, maintaining the connection between customer needs and engineering decisions.
  • Define and maintain interface requirements and ICDs with the responsible engineering owners. Coordinate data, timing, payload, and user interfaces across teams, suppliers, and external partners, including applicable interoperability standards and customer integration constraints.
  • Lead technical trades and reviews for assigned capabilities. Evaluate alternatives against performance, customer utility, cost, risk, operability, verification effort, and schedule. Identify customer requirements that could materially change the design and bring unresolved choices to the appropriate technical owners.
  • Develop verification and validation strategies with domain owners and evaluation criteria with customers. Connect requirements to analysis, simulation, laboratory testing, field demonstrations, and operational evidence.
  • Lead selected integration and demonstration efforts, including integration with representative user equipment. Coordinate test planning and execution, investigate cross-team discrepancies, drive corrective actions through closure, and use the results to refine requirements and service concepts.
  • Develop and maintain engineering plans for assigned PNT capabilities and demonstrations. Establish work packages, milestones, integration sequences, dependencies, partner commitments, effort estimates, resource needs, and cost inputs with engineering leads and program partners. Identify risks and capacity conflicts and develop recovery options within the agreed scope.
  • Support customer evaluations, pilots, proposals, and funded development opportunities with business development and government stakeholders. Define technical scope, integration responsibilities, qualification expectations, and demonstration objectives, with engineering review of feasibility before commitments are made.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in mission architecture, systems engineering, PNT, navigation, or technical leadership of complex hardware and software systems.
  • Experience working with customers, operational users, or platform integrators to understand technical needs and translate them into architectures, requirements, interfaces, and verification criteria.
  • Experience with requirements decomposition, allocation, traceability, interface management, and technical baseline control.
  • Experience developing engineering, integration, or test plans and coordinating technical dependencies across multiple teams or suppliers.
  • Ability to translate technical scope into work packages, effort estimates, resource needs, milestones, and acceptance criteria.
  • Experience planning or executing integration and verification, investigating technical discrepancies, and coordinating corrective actions across engineering teams.
  • Ability to evaluate engineering trade-offs, explain technical constraints to customers, communicate risks clearly, and lead cross-functional work through implementation and verification.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with assured or resilient PNT, GNSS, precision timing, satellite navigation, or integration of PNT equipment into operational platforms.
  • Experience developing concepts of operations and architectures for systems spanning multiple platforms, organizations, or suppliers.
  • Experience coordinating concurrent hardware, software, and test efforts, including external supplier deliverables and shared integration resources.
  • Experience working with government or defense customers, evaluating emerging technologies, or conducting operational demonstrations and field testing.
  • Experience supporting technical proposals, acquisition activities, supplier evaluations, statements of work, or development estimates.
  • Familiarity with Python, MATLAB, or comparable tools for engineering analysis and test-data evaluation.
  • Ability and willingness to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Security Clearance.

You do not need experience in every area above. We are particularly interested in engineers who can understand customer missions, translate them into practical PNT capabilities, and work across teams to demonstrate that those capabilities meet operational needs.
