About the role

Senior Occupational Therapist

About Nimbus Health

Nimbus Health exists to empower older Australians to reclaim independence without ever leaving home. By combining best-practice allied health care with seamless coordination, we remove the barriers that too often stand between our clients and the care they need.

Since our founding, we’ve grown across Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, and Sydney yet our north-star remains unchanged: compassionate, accessible care that keeps people right where they belong at home. We partner closely with clients, families and home care providers to deliver evidence-based services that prioritise lasting wellbeing and quality of life.

We're looking for a Senior Occupational Therapist to join our team and help us deliver high-quality services to our clients in Melbourne.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical work

  • Assess and manage the needs of clients, and provide expert advice and treatment options
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards in the delivery of care
  • Utilise advanced clinical reasoning and evidence-based practice
  • Participate in the development and implementation of clinical programs and services
  • Maintain accurate clinical records and ensure compliance with documentation requirement
  • Provide clinical support and coaching to junior Occupational Therapists
  • Continually review our current processes with an eye for improvements, including updating our team wiki with best practice
  • Prepare training and educational materials for the organisations we work closely with
  • Identify opportunities for service improvement and develop strategies to enhance the quality of care
  • Engage in professional development activities to maintain and enhance clinical skills and knowledge

Team Management and Support

  • Support the team management by mentoring and coaching a team in delivering client-centred care; you’ll be closely supported by the National Head of OT
  • Monitor team performance, provide feedback, and address any issues or concerns
  • Assist with the recruitment, training, and development of Occupational Therapists
  • Ensure that all compliance requirements are met, including team certifications are up to date

Organisational Growth

  • Partner with Talent Acquisition and the National Head of OT to identify workforce needs and recruit high-quality Occupational Therapists
  • Proactively create knowledge sharing opportunities across Nimbus Health
  • Contribute to company and departmental training sessions
  • Act as a brand advocate for Nimbus Health

About You

  • Bachelor Degree of Occupational Therapy (or equivalent)
  • Current AHPRA registration
  • A valid Australian driver's license
  • Regular access to a car
  • At least 4+ years' experience, with previous leadership, mentoring or team coordination experience
  • A genuine interest in developing people and building high-performing teams
  • Ability to balance the needs of individual team members with broader team and organisational priorities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with others
  • Strong clinical skills and knowledge of a range of occupational therapy treatment modalities
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage a caseload of clients and prioritise tasks effectively
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures
  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development
  • A positive attitude and strong desire to make a difference in clients' lives

What We Offer

  • Competitive remuneration, including a generous travel allowance, $1,500+ per annum professional development fund and regular in-person training
  • Monthly Team Connect Lunch Allowance
  • Access to our Health and Wellness Program, including discounts to gyms and health insurance, an Employee Assistance Program, along with other great benefits
  • Induction day and regular team training, with a special emphasis on enabling collaboration and social interaction
  • Work-life balance
  • Working with a diverse range of clients across their lifespan and building meaningful relationships
  • Open channels of communications between all levels within the organisation and autonomy
  • Regular social events to get to know the wider Nimbus Health team
