Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will deliver comprehensive assessment, treatment and ongoing management for consumers across inpatient, community and extended treatment settings, supporting individuals aged 65 years and over with severe and complex mental health needs.

This role offers an exceptional opportunity to combine specialist clinical practice with leadership, education and service development. You will provide clinical leadership, supervise and mentor junior medical staff and trainees, contribute to quality improvement and research initiatives, and help shape contemporary mental health services that improve outcomes for older people, their families and carers.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:

  • Deliver clinical leadership within multidisciplinary mental health teams to support safe, effective and person-centred care.
  • Provide supervision, education and mentoring to registrars, junior medical officers, medical students and other healthcare professionals.
  • Support quality improvement, clinical governance, research and service evaluation activities that enhance mental health outcomes.
  • Participate in after-hours on-call and ECT rosters while ensuring compliance with the Mental Health Act 2016 and contemporary clinical practice standards.

Benefits when working for us

  • Value driven organisation which provides a work environment that is safe, satisfying, flexible, and promotes a healthy work-life balance
  • Flexible working arrangements and competitive salary rates with annual incremental increases
  • Benefit from a higher than standard employer contribution to Superannuation of up to 12.75% and access to salary packaging
