About the role

Why Harvey

At Harvey, we’re transforming how legal and professional services operate. By combining frontier agentic AI, an enterprise-grade platform, and deep domain expertise, we’re reshaping how critical knowledge work gets done for decades to come.

This is a rare chance to help build a generational company at a true inflection point. We have strong product-market fit and world-class investor support. We’re scaling fast and defining a new category in real time. The work is ambitious, the bar is high, and the opportunity for growth — personal, professional, and financial — is unmatched.

Our team moves fast, takes ownership, and is deeply committed to the mission — operating with intensity, staying close to our customers, and pushing each other for excellence. We live by three values: Decisiveness, Simplicity, and Job's Not Finished. We act quickly on clear judgment over perfect information, we believe simplicity is what scales, and we're never satisfied with where we are. If you want to do the best work of your career alongside people who share that drive, we'd love to build with you.

At Harvey, the future of professional services is being written today — and we’re just getting started.

Role Overview

We are looking for a Senior Counsel- Marketing to join Harvey's growing legal team. In this role you will be the primary legal point of contact for all marketing and communications activity at Harvey. You will also assist with the contracts and commercial relationships that power our marketing engine, safeguard the integrity of our promotional messaging, and act as a hands-on partner to the teams driving Harvey's growth. This is a high-impact, cross-functional role for a commercially minded lawyer who wants to sit at the intersection of law, brand, and go-to-market strategy.

What You'll Do

  • Review and advise on marketing language across all promotional material, product announcements, including web copy, advertising, social media, email campaigns, sales enablement content, and event and press materials, to ensure claims are accurate, substantiated, and compliant.
  • Balance commercial, marketing, compliance, and privacy concerns across advertising campaigns (US and internationally).
  • Advise on targeted and digital advertising practices, including the data, privacy, tracking of direct to consumer marketing such as email marketing.
  • Act as the embedded legal partner to Marketing and Comms leadership, providing practical, business-oriented guidance that enables campaigns to launch quickly and responsibly.
  • Partner closely with cross-functional teams to keep pace in a fast-moving environment, knowing when to move independently and when to escalate matters to the right internal stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with the commercial team on global marketing agreements.

What You Have

  • J.D. and active membership in good standing with at least one U.S. state bar.
  • 8+ years of relevant experience at a law firm and/or in-house, with meaningful exposure to marketing, advertising, and commercial contracting.
  • Strong command of advertising and marketing law, including claims substantiation, and consumer protection.
  • Working knowledge of privacy and data protection issues relevant to targeted advertising and direct-to-consumer marketing.
  • Demonstrated ability to draft and negotiate a high volume of marketing commercial agreements independently.
  • Excellent judgment, a business-first mindset, and the ability to give clear, practical advice under tight timelines.
  • Comfort operating in a fast-paced, high-growth environment and partnering closely with non-legal stakeholders.

Compensation

$210,300 - $281,500 USD
