About the role

Antora Energy delivers affordable, reliable energy to industry, data centers, and the grid. Our thermal batteries turn low-cost electricity into always-on heat and power, without supply-constrained critical minerals or multi-year construction timelines.

We are growing our company with people who put team and mission first, value connection through laughter and joy, and work with humility and openness. We are committed to building a diverse, passionate, and creative team dedicated to a future powered by abundant, clean, low-cost energy.

Position Summary

Antora is seeking a Senior Manufacturing & New Product Introduction (NPI) Engineer to lead the end-to-end implementation of advanced manufacturing processes, focusing on machining operations and automated material handling systems. In this position, you will serve as the technical lead for deploying custom automated work cells, commissioning new machinery, collaborating with equipment vendors, and establishing resilient shop-floor operations. You will also execute the detailed engineering of processing and handling solutions, leveraging automation to maximize safety, quality, and output.

Your leadership will directly impact Antora's mission by scaling production capacity, driving part quality, and reducing manufacturing costs for our thermal battery module

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end NPI, from R&D concept definition through equipment acquisition, fabrication, and manufacturing bring-up and stabilization
  • Manage capital equipment procurement ($100k+ POs), including drafting specs, vendor evaluation, SAT, and line commissioning.
  • Partner with cross-functional engineering teams to architect, construct, and implement custom mechanisms and automated machinery for fabrication and testing, guiding prototype builds to achieve key milestones and integrating robotic end-of-arm tooling, cell loading, and inline monitoring.
  • Establish workholding, machining strategies, and methods for non-metallic and high-temperature materials.
  • Execute DOEs to optimize process windows, tool life, cycle times, and scrap rates.
  • Author production documentation, including SOPs, Work Instructions, Control Plans, and PM checklists.
  • Lead RCCA investigations and continuous improvement initiatives using shop-floor yield and quality metrics.
  • Support factory site planning, layouts, material flows, headcount modeling, and work instructions.
  • Establish validation metrics and test procedures to verify hardware meets design specs.
  • Solve complex engineering challenges with urgency and initiative

Key Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Materials Science, or a related engineering discipline.
  • 5+ years of industry experience in mechanical design engineering, manufacturing engineering, or process development.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in 3D CAD modeling (SolidWorks or Siemens NX) and ASME Y14.5 GD&T drafting.
  • Experience writing equipment specifications, managing capital equipment vendors, and commissioning custom machinery or automation cells.
  • Practical background in standing up machining processes, CNC programming, workholding, and tooling selection.
  • Willingness to be based full-time on site in St. Mary's, PA and work in covered, unconditioned, outdoor environments throughout the year

Additional Qualifications Desired

  • Knowledge of industrial safety standards (LOTO, machine guarding, dust collection NFPA/OSHA guidelines).
  • Leverage of AI to increase the quality & quantity of your work output.
  • Experience in startup or high-growth hardware manufacturing environments.
  • Experience working as a customer representative embedded at a supplier or contract manufacturer.
  • Familiarity with PLM, PDM, MES, and ERP integration
