Position Overview

Data Systems Analysts, Inc. (DSA) is seeking an experienced Senior Geospatial Information Scientist and Technologist (GIS/Tools Administrator) to support the U.S. Army's Scalable GEOINT mission at Fort Gordon, GA.

In this role, you will be responsible for administering, maintaining, and enhancing enterprise geospatial intelligence systems that support critical Army and Intelligence Community operations. You will ensure that GIS and GEOINT software platforms remain properly configured, optimized, and operational, enabling intelligence analysts to access the tools and geospatial data necessary for mission planning, intelligence analysis, and operational decision-making.

The ideal candidate brings extensive experience in enterprise GIS administration, GEOINT applications, software deployment, and geospatial systems integration. You will work with technologies including ArcGIS Enterprise, SOCET GXP, GeoServer, PostgreSQL/PostGIS, and Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM).

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise GIS and GEOINT platforms, including ArcGIS Enterprise and SOCET GXP.
  • Support multiple ArcGIS Enterprise environments, ensuring system availability, performance, scalability, and reliability.
  • Manage enterprise software installations, updates, patches, configurations, and deployments using Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM/SCCM).
  • Install, configure, maintain, and optimize GeoServer and PostgreSQL/PostGIS environments.
  • Maintain geospatial databases, datasets, map layers, and intelligence-related GIS products.
  • Develop and implement GIS scripts, applications, and automated workflows to improve operational efficiency.
  • Perform GIS programming and development activities to enhance enterprise geospatial capabilities.
  • Troubleshoot application performance, software integration, connectivity, and configuration issues across GEOINT systems.
  • Support secure authentication and access management, including SAML and Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) technologies.
  • Coordinate with the Army Geospatial Office (AGO), help desk teams, Field Service Representatives (FSRs), and mission partners to resolve technical issues.
  • Provide technical guidance, troubleshooting assistance, and operational support to GIS users and intelligence analysts.
  • Develop and maintain system documentation, configuration records, operating procedures, and technical guides.
  • Support the modernization, security, reliability, and operational readiness of enterprise GEOINT infrastructure.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geography, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Geospatial Science, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant professional experience.
  • 7+ years of professional experience working with GIS technologies.
  • Advanced knowledge of GEOINT software applications, including ArcGIS and SOCET GXP.
  • Demonstrated experience administering, configuring, maintaining, or supporting enterprise GIS applications and systems.
  • Hands-on experience using Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM/SCCM) for enterprise software deployment and management.
  • Experience maintaining GIS databases, geospatial datasets, and associated information products.
  • Strong technical troubleshooting, problem-solving, and system administration skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with technical teams, government stakeholders, and mission partners.
  • Ability to meet DoDM 8140.03 baseline certification requirements for the assigned cybersecurity work role at the start of employment.
  • Ability to obtain the required computing environment certification before receiving privileged system access.
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience installing, configuring, administering, and optimizing ArcGIS Enterprise in complex, multi-site environments.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise network architecture, infrastructure dependencies, and resource management for ArcGIS Enterprise deployments.
  • Experience automating administrative tasks and GIS workflows using Python, PowerShell, Bash, or similar scripting languages.
  • Experience implementing SAML authentication and PKCS12/PKI-based authentication within ArcGIS Enterprise.
  • Experience administering GeoServer and PostgreSQL/PostGIS databases.
  • Esri technical certifications, particularly ArcGIS Enterprise Administration.
  • Familiarity with ENVI, QT Modeler, and other geospatial intelligence production tools.
  • Experience supporting U.S. Army, National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA), or other DoD GEOINT programs.
  • Familiarity with Processing, Exploitation, and Dissemination (PED) or Tasking, Processing, Exploitation, and Dissemination (TPED) workflows.
  • Experience supporting classified enterprise GIS and intelligence information systems.

Security Clearance Requirements

  • Active, final Top Secret security clearance required at the start of employment.
  • Must be eligible for access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).
  • Must meet all applicable security requirements for access to classified information systems and facilities.

Why Join DSA?

This position offers the opportunity to work with advanced geospatial intelligence technologies that directly support U.S. Army and Intelligence Community missions.

Unlike traditional GIS positions focused primarily on mapping and geospatial analysis, this role combines enterprise systems administration, geospatial engineering, automation, and software development. You will work with specialized technologies while helping ensure mission-critical GEOINT platforms remain secure, reliable, and available to the intelligence professionals who depend on them.

For an experienced GIS professional, this position offers the opportunity to expand technical expertise, solve complex enterprise challenges, collaborate with military intelligence professionals, and contribute directly to national security operations.
