About the role

Your Role

As a (Senior) Business Controller, you play a key role in steering FINN’s financial and operational performance. You drive transparency on planned and actual unit economics, deep-diving into profitability drivers and P&L Gross Margin deviations against plan to identify actionable countersteering measures. Working closely with cross-functional stakeholders, you translate complex financial and operational data into clear recommendations that support business decision-making, optimize profitability, and drive sustainable growth.

Your Mission

  • Drive Unit Economics Transparency & Improvement: Own unit economics calculation methodologies, reporting, and analyses to provide transparency on planned and actual profitability per subscription. Deep-dive into underlying drivers, explain deviations against plan, and identify countersteering measures to improve profitability and support financial planning.
  • Analyze & Steer Financial Performance: Own the analysis and steering of Gross Margin P&L line items, explaining deviations against plan and translating unit economics and KPI performance to financial results. Partner closely with business stakeholders to identify performance drivers, manage provisions, and implement and track initiatives to improve profitability.
  • Improve Data-Driven Business Steering: Own the tactical Demand & Supply Steering process, balancing demand generation, fleet availability, utilization, and profitability against company targets. Evaluate financial trade-offs, identify opportunities to optimize operational performance and translate demand and supply forecasts into actionable recommendations for fleet planning and steering.
  • Management & Board Reporting: Contribute to the monthly management and board reporting by translating findings on Gross Margin and unit economics into concise, insightful commentary on performance, drivers, risks and opportunities.

Your Profile

Must have

  • Proven track record in Controlling, Financial Analysis, or Business Intelligence within a fast-paced scale-up, tech company, top-tier consulting firm, or Big 4 environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of accounting principles, financial statements, and P&L management.
  • Advanced proficiency Google Sheets or Excel paired with strong analytical capabilities and data-driven problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent, fluent English communication skills (C1/C2 level) with the ability to convey complex financial topics clearly to key stakeholders.

Nice to have

  • Practical experience working with business intelligence tools (e.g., Looker), financial reporting software (e.g., LucaNet), or ERP systems (e.g., SAP).
