As a Security Engineer in our team, you will collaborate with about 30 customer-oriented teams that each manage their own critical system environments. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring the safety of Schuberg Philis and its customers by preventing incidents, responding to threats and supporting our customer teams. Engage closely with engineers, our customer teams, external experts, vendors and stakeholders to drive projects and implement solutions that benefit all teams within Schuberg Philis - from concept to realization to adoption.

In this role, you will work with cutting-edge technologies, spanning private and public clouds and VMs to serverless - all highly automated. Specifically, you will have the opportunity to contribute to a wide range of internal security solutions such as MDR, IAM, vulnerability management and more.
As a hands-on Security Engineer, your skills will be put to the test in a diverse technological landscape.
Success in this role requires a strong arm in, at least, one of these aspects of security:
- Security engineering: Deep understanding and hands on experience in securing and automating operation in cloud based mission critical environments.
- Identity and access management: Deep understanding and hands on experience with identity management platforms like Okta or EntraID in mission critical environments.
- Secure software development: A solid grasp of secure coding, secure architecture, defensive programming, and system hardening, and the ability to apply these principles in real codebases.
In addition to a unique blend of skills and traits
- 5+ years of experience in either a security or software engineering role.
- A security mindset with a passion for tackling challenges related to tooling, patching, integrations, testing and automation for both cloud and on-prem solutions.
- Strong risk management thinking, sense of ownership, and a solid BS radar.
- Eagerness to learn, coupled with a stubborn determination to make things happen, sprinkled with a healthy sense of paranoia when it comes to privacy and security.
- Experience in blue/red team activities is a plus.
- Experience with Jira Automation, Okta workflows, Terraform, Ansible, Chef is a plus.

- Architect, deploy and operate security solutions that impact all our customer teams.
- Identifying areas of improvement and assessing the feasibility and benefit of security efforts.
- Collaborating with all customer teams, offering guidance on security-related topics.
- Creating custom tools to enhance security management in our customer teams.
- Participating in incident response and serving as the go-to security expert for internal consultations.
- Using your technical and soft skills to guide the organization in adopting security measures.
