  • Join our inclusive, collaborative community
  • Be surrounded by extraordinary ideas - and the people who discover them

The Opportunity

Join the School of Physics and Astronomy at Monash University as a Research Fellow, contributing to cutting-edge research in reconfigurable metasurfaces and ultrafast photonics.

The Research Fellow will work on developing a reconfigurable metasurface platform using phase-change materials and investigating its temporal modulation through an ultrafast pump–probe optical system. The research will explore laser-induced phase transitions in low-loss phase-change materials, alongside ultrafast carrier-driven modulation in semiconductor platforms, advancing new approaches to dynamic photonic technologies.

About You

To be considered for this position, you will have:

  • A doctoral qualification (PhD) in a relevant discipline or a closely related field.
  • Research experience relevant to the development of reconfigurable metasurfaces, phase-change materials or ultrafast photonics.

This is a genuine opportunity to deepen your expertise in an area where materials science, nanophotonics and ultrafast optics converge — working alongside researchers in one of Australia's leading physics schools, with access to the facilities and collaborative networks that serious experimental photonics demands.
