About the role

About Stylus Medicine

Stylus Medicine is developing transformative in vivo genetic medicines to unlock cures. Stylus combines engineered recombinases with non-viral delivery to specifically encode therapeutics. The company’s approach is versatile and modular, with potential therapeutic application across oncology, autoimmune, genetic diseases, and beyond.

About the Role

Stylus Medicine is seeking a highly motivated and collaborative Research Associate to join the Molecular and Cellular Immunology team. In this role, the Research Associate will assist in generating nucleic acid materials and performing in vitro cell experiments, supporting the advancement of genetic medicines that leverage engineered recombinases delivered through non-viral methods. Working closely with cross-functional teams, this is a unique opportunity to work on the front lines of innovation and contribute to the advancement of transformational therapies.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

  • Perform in vitro T cell experiments to evaluate efficiency of recombinase-based engineering strategies and characterize the functional ability of resulting CAR-T cells
  • Perform cloning and prepare nucleic acid and/or LNPs to support cell culture experiments
  • Analyze and interpret data and produce data reports to inform project direction
  • Effectively communicate findings to internal teams
  • Maintain detailed and accurate laboratory records in compliance with data integrity and documentation standards

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Bioengineering, Immunology, or a related field
  • Hands-on molecular biology experience, including PCR, cloning, bacterial transformations, minipreps, maxipreps, and in vitro transcription
  • Hands-on mammalian cell culture expertise, including culturing tumor cell lines and primary T cells/PBMCs, co-culture experiments, flow cytometry, and genomic DNA extraction
  • Familiarity producing targeted LNPs and/or working with CAR-T cells is preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to execute, interpret, and troubleshoot experiments, both independently and collaboratively
  • Experience maintaining meticulous records, including documenting and maintaining an organized lab notebook, lab inventory, and experimental results
  • Excellent communication skills, with a team-first mindset and the ability to convey technical information
  • Highly collaborative working style and ability to adapt in a fast paced, rapidly developing environment
  • Enthusiasm and curiosity to learn and apply new lab techniques across a variety of sub-disciplines

Pay Range: $85,000-$95,000
