About the role

About the role

As a Midwife within Maternity Services at Redcliffe Hospital, you will work in partnership with women and their families to provide contemporary, evidence-based, woman and baby focused care across the maternity continuum. Working collaboratively with the interprofessional healthcare team, you will support optimal health outcomes through the delivery of high-quality antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal care while maintaining individual accountability for your professional practice.

You will apply your clinical midwifery expertise to assess, plan, implement and evaluate care, respond to changing clinical situations, and provide education and support to women and their families. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to a positive practice environment, support culturally responsive healthcare, and play a key role in delivering safe, compassionate and person-centred maternity services.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:

  • Provide comprehensive antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal care through the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of evidence-based midwifery services.
  • Develop individualised care plans in partnership with women and families, supporting positive birth experiences and optimal health outcomes.
  • Respond effectively to changes in the health status of women and babies using advanced assessment, clinical reasoning and intervention skills.
  • Deliver education and support to women and their families, promoting informed decision-making, independence and confidence in parenting.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to provide safe, culturally responsive and woman-centred maternity care while contributing to quality improvement initiatives.

Benefits when working for us

  • Rewarding career and development opportunities across a wide range of clinical and non-clinical areas
  • Value driven organisation which provides a work environment that is safe, satisfying, flexible, and promotes a healthy work-life balance
  • Flexible working arrangements and competitive salary rates with annual incremental increases
  • Benefit from a higher than standard employer contribution to Superannuation of up to 12.75% and access to salary packaging

Metro North Health offers a dynamic and progressive environment at the forefront of healthcare, research, and education. With a strong commitment to inclusion, flexibility, and professional development, we provide meaningful opportunities in a workplace that puts people first.
