About the role

Secure Every Identity, from AI to Human

Identity is the key to unlocking the potential of AI. Okta secures AI by building the trusted, neutral infrastructure that enables organizations to safely embrace this new era. This work requires a relentless drive to solve complex challenges with real-world stakes. We are looking for builders and owners who operate with speed and urgency and execute with excellence.

This is an opportunity to do career-defining work. We're all in on this mission. If you are too, let's talk.

Okta is The World’s Identity Company

Okta frees everyone to safely use any technology, anywhere, on any device or app. Our flexible and neutral platform places identity at the core of security, productivity, and growth.

As organisations modernise their security architecture and accelerate AI adoption, identity has become the critical control plane. Okta Workforce Identity helps organisations secure access for employees, contractors, partners, privileged users, applications, devices, and non-human identities such as service accounts, automation tools, API keys, and AI agents.

Join our team. We’re building a world where Identity belongs to you.

The Okta Workforce Identity Sales Team

Okta Workforce Identity helps organisations securely connect their people to the technology they need to do their best work. We help customers strengthen authentication, govern access, automate identity processes, reduce risk, and improve user experience at scale.

As AI adoption grows, organisations must secure not only human users, but also the non-human identities powering automation and AI. Okta helps customers build a trusted identity foundation for secure AI adoption through visibility, governance, least-privileged access, and control across human and non-human identities.

As a Public Sector Account Executive, you will drive territory growth through net-new logo acquisition and expansion across government and highly regulated customers. You will work closely with the broader Okta ecosystem, including xDRs, Solutions Engineering, Partners, Customer First, and Professional Services, to help customers modernise identity and strengthen cyber resilience.

Public Sector Account Executive, Workforce Identity

The successful candidate is a senior, self-driven Public Sector sales executive with a strong track record of winning strategic new logos, building executive relationships, and delivering complex SaaS or cyber security outcomes.

You will work with key government and highly regulated organisations as they modernise workforce access, improve security posture, simplify identity governance, and prepare for AI-driven workforces.

What you’ll be doing

  • Build and execute a territory plan for pipeline generation and net-new logo acquisition.
  • Consistently deliver revenue targets and support year-on-year territory growth.
  • Develop account strategies to generate pipeline, progress opportunities, and deliver predictable bookings.
  • Engage senior stakeholders across Security, Technology, Digital, Risk, Operations, and Executive teams.
  • Position Okta Workforce Identity as a strategic platform for secure access, identity governance, privileged access, automation, and AI-era identity security.
  • Help customers understand how identity supports secure AI adoption, including governance of non-human identities, service accounts, automation tools, and AI agents.
  • Create compelling business cases, presentations, and executive-ready materials.
  • Lead stakeholder alignment, account planning, negotiations, and quarterly business reviews.
  • Leverage xDRs, Partners, Presales, Customer First, and Professional Services to progress opportunities.
  • Build strong relationships with strategic partners, system integrators, and cloud ecosystem partners.

What you’ll bring to the role

  • 10+ years of success selling complex Public Sector, enterprise SaaS, or cyber security solutions.
  • Proven ability to win net-new logos and expand strategic government or highly regulated accounts.
  • Strong understanding of workforce identity, access management, cyber security, cloud transformation, and enterprise technology buying cycles.
  • Ability to engage senior stakeholders across Security, IT, Digital, Risk, Operations, and Executive audiences.
  • Strong technical and commercial acumen, with the ability to connect identity and security solutions to business outcomes.
  • Ability to articulate the role of identity in secure AI adoption, including human and non-human identity governance.
  • Excellent discovery, communication, presentation, and executive presence.
  • Experience working on large transformational security, identity, cloud, or digital modernisation initiatives.
  • Creative, resilient, team-oriented, and highly accountable.
  • Experience using MEDDPICC, Challenger, or Sandler sales methodologies.
  • Strong forecast accuracy, opportunity hygiene, rigour, and execution discipline.
