About the role

About BMD

BMD is Australia’s leading integrated engineering, construction and urban development business, with foundations built on the family values that underpin our unique, collaborative approach. Driven by a purpose of powering futures and creating enduring legacies through a commitment to collaboration, BMD is delivering infrastructure solutions that connect and transform communities. With a proud history beginning in 1979, BMD now employs 2,400 people throughout Australia, the Philippines and United Kingdom.

About the Role

We’re looking for an organised and personable Receptionist to join our Sydney team on a casual basis, working Wednesdays and Fridays from our Wentworth Point office. There may also be opportunities to pick up an additional day's work as our office requirements grow. This could be a great opportunity if you’re studying, returning to the workforce, looking for greater flexibility, or simply enjoy being part of a professional and supportive office environment.

As one of the first points of contact for our Sydney office, you’ll help create a welcoming experience for employees, clients and visitors while keeping day-to-day reception and administration running smoothly.

What you'll be doing:

  • Welcoming visitors and providing a professional first point of contact
  • Managing incoming calls and directing enquiries
  • Coordinating incoming and outgoing mail, couriers and deliveries
  • Organising courier and catering bookings when required
  • Scanning and electronically distributing documents and correspondence
  • Assisting with general administration and everyday office requirements
  • Providing practical support to the wider team as needs arise

About You

You don’t need an extensive reception background to be successful in this role. We’re looking for someone with a positive attitude who enjoys working with people and is willing to learn.

You'll be someone who:

  • A warm, professional and approachable manner
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • A willingness to learn, ask questions and get involved
  • Initiative and a practical approach to getting things done
  • Good attention to detail and organisational skills
  • The ability to juggle different priorities throughout the day
  • Confidence communicating with a variety of people
  • Pride in providing great service and producing quality work

Previous experience in reception, administration or customer service would be an advantage, but it isn’t essential.

Diversity and inclusion

We recognise that we are strengthened by diversity, and we embrace differences as an equal opportunity employer providing a flexible and inclusive workplace.

So, join our team, be yourself and help us power futures and create legacies.

We’re a purpose and values-led business guided by our values of family, empowered, collaborative and driven. For further details on what makes BMD unique, head to https://www.bmdgroup.global/careers
