BlockTech is hiring a Quantitative Developer to join its Pricing team in Amsterdam.
In crypto, the gap between a good model and live PnL comes down to how fast and how reliably you can ship it. Our infrastructure directly moves the edge.
In this role, you'll own the path from research model to production trading system.
About BlockTech
BlockTech is an algorithmic trading firm headquartered in Amsterdam, with a second office in Singapore. We specialize in market making and trade cryptocurrency derivatives and spot markets globally, using our own capital. We're growing fast and expanding into new markets.
This is a hands-on engineering seat on our trading floor. You'll work shoulder to shoulder with researchers, traders, and fellow engineers, primarily in Python and Rust, the languages our models and systems are written in.
What will you do?
You will own the infrastructure that turns research models into production trading systems. You'll build the frameworks and tooling that let quants ship their code, and keep those systems running once they're live.
You will:
- Own the path to production. Build and run the data pipelines, backtesting, deployment, and monitoring that take models from research to live trading.
- Harden prototypes. Turn research code into performant, production-grade code that runs reliably in live trading.
- Ship with the desk. Work closely with quantitative researchers and traders to get new models live quickly and safely.
- Run what you ship. Monitor performance, diagnose issues, and keep latency and reliability high.
- Raise the bar. Improve the tools, standards, and pipelines the team relies on, and lift engineering quality across the floor.
What we're looking for
You'll need:
- 2+ years of software engineering experience, with a track record of shipping production-grade systems.
- A strong academic foundation in a STEM discipline (computer science, mathematics, physics, engineering, or similar).
- Strong programming skills in Python, ideally with Rust and/or C++.
- Solid engineering fundamentals: clean, testable, maintainable code, version control, testing, and CI/CD.
- The ability to work with researchers and traders, and translate research code into production systems.
- Clear written and spoken English.
Bonus points for:
- Experience building or maintaining trading, backtesting, or data infrastructure.
- Familiarity with market microstructure.
Pay, location, and relocation
- Compensation: a competitive base salary plus a performance bonus based on individual and company results.
- Trading fund: outstanding performance is rewarded with the opportunity to buy into the trading fund.
- Location: On-site at our Amsterdam office
- Visa: BlockTech sponsors the Dutch highly skilled migrant visa.
- Relocation: All-in relocation package and Dutch classes for international hires. Eligible hires may qualify for the 30% tax ruling.
