The Opportunity

We are seeking a Quantitative Analyst to join our Investment Governance & Research team, part of the broader Investment Solutions division at Netwealth.

This is a great opportunity for an investment professional with around 2 years’ experience who enjoys working with data and wants to build their career in quantitative investment analysis and research.

You’ll support the team in analysing investment performance, maintaining high quality investment data and producing insights that help inform investment research and governance decisions. You’ll gain exposure to a broad range of investment products, managers and asset classes while developing your understanding of portfolio analytics, performance and risk.

As the team continues to enhance its data and analytical capabilities, you’ll also have the opportunity to contribute to improvements across our investment tools, reporting and data processes.

Key responsibilities include;

  • Support the maintenance and improvement of investment data, analytics and reporting processes, ensuring information is accurate and reliable
  • Use investment analytics platforms such as FactSet and Morningstar Direct to support portfolio analysis, benchmarking and investment research
  • Assist with quantitative fund manager reviews, including performance analysis, risk metrics and portfolio characteristics
  • Produce analysis and reporting to support Investment Committee discussions and investment decision making
  • Contribute to reporting across managed accounts, investment menus and platform benchmarks
  • Work with the broader Investment Governance & Research team to identify opportunities to improve data quality, reporting and analytical processes
  • Develop your knowledge of investment markets, portfolio construction, performance measurement and investment governance

About you

You’re a curious and analytical investment professional with 2 or more years of relevant experience, strong analytical foundations and a genuine interest in investments. You enjoy solving problems, working with complex datasets and turning analysis into clear, meaningful insights. You’re keen to continue developing your technical capabilities while building broader exposure across investment research and governance.

Your background includes:

  • 2 or more years’ experience in quantitative analysis, investment research, performance analysis, data analytics or a related financial services role
  • Tertiary qualification in finance, economics, mathematics, statistics, data science or a related discipline
  • Experience working with investment data and an understanding of investment performance, risk and portfolio concepts
  • Exposure to investment analytics or research platforms such as FactSet or Morningstar Direct would be highly regarded
  • Strong Excel skills and some experience with analytical or coding tools such as Python, R or SQL
  • Ability to work with datasets, identify trends and translate quantitative analysis into meaningful insights
  • Strong attention to detail and an understanding of the importance of data quality
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain analytical findings to different audiences
  • Exposure to investment governance, managed funds, managed accounts, superannuation or investment platforms would be beneficial
