About the role

Schrödinger is on the cutting edge of Computer-Aided Drug Discovery and Materials Science, collaborating with companies like Takeda, Nimbus, Pfizer, and Sanofi. We set the record for the world’s largest and fastest cloud computing run, and our software suites continue to revolutionize the design of novel therapeutics and materials. FEP+, Glide, Maestro, WaterMap, and LiveDesign are just a few examples of the programs we’ve created.

We are seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer to join us in our mission to improve human health and quality of life through advanced computational methods!

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsibilities include working on the design, implementation, and administration of testing strategies to assess cutting-edge, Schrodinger's Qt-based applications and workflow management tools.
  • Responsible for identifying and reporting bugs and potential improvements, validating fixes and new features, and ensuring the scientific integrity, performance, and usability of our products.

Skills Required

  • A strong academic background, preferably a Master’s degree in Chemistry (such as Physical, Theoretical, Medicinal, Materials Chemistry), Pharmacoinformatics, Physics, or a related discipline, with zero to two years of experience in a role involving significant exposure to computers and software.
  • Familiarity with force fields, QM/MM methodologies, and molecular modeling techniques, including molecular docking, geometry optimization, molecular dynamics, and protein structure modeling, is preferred.
  • Strong analytical, logical reasoning, and problem-solving abilities, complemented by excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with Python and shell scripting is desirable.
  • Prior exposure to Schrödinger software or other computational chemistry tools, such as NWChem or Gaussian, is preferred.
  • Knowledge of the software development life cycle and software quality assurance practices is advantageous. Experience with Squish or other GUI testing tools would be an additional benefit.
  • The candidate must be highly motivated, comfortable working under deadlines, pay significant attention to detail, and possess the ability to be both self-directed yet work well within a team.

As an equal opportunity employer, Schrödinger hires outstanding individuals into every position in the company. People who work with us have a high degree of engagement, a commitment to working effectively in teams, and a passion for the company's mission. We place the highest value on creating a safe environment where our employees can grow and contribute, and refuse to discriminate on the basis of race, color, religious belief, sex, age, disability, national origin, alienage or citizenship status, marital status, partnership status, caregiver status, sexual and reproductive health decisions, gender identity or expression, or sexual orientation. To us, "diversity" isn't just a buzzword, but an important element of our core principles and key business practices. We believe that diverse companies innovate better and think more creatively than homogenous ones because they take into account a wide range of viewpoints. For us, greater diversity doesn't mean better headlines or public images - it means increased adaptability and profitability.
