Join the Adolescent Inpatient Unit at Metro North Mental Health as a Senior Psychologist and provide high-level, evidence-based psychological services to adolescents aged 14 to 17 years experiencing severe and complex mental health disorders. Working within a multidisciplinary inpatient team, you will conduct comprehensive psychological assessments, formulate treatment plans, deliver therapeutic interventions and support young people and their families through recovery-focused and trauma-informed care.

This advanced clinical role offers the opportunity to combine specialist psychology practice with leadership, supervision and service development. You will provide expert consultation across the service, contribute to quality improvement and research initiatives, and support the professional development of psychologists, students and clinical support staff while helping shape innovative adolescent mental health services.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:

  • Provide advanced psychological assessment, formulation and evidence-based interventions for adolescents with severe and complex mental health needs within an inpatient setting.
  • Deliver trauma-informed, recovery-focused care including risk assessment, care coordination, crisis intervention and individual and group therapeutic programs.
  • Provide expert consultation and clinical advice to multidisciplinary teams, families, carers and external stakeholders to support optimal treatment and discharge planning.
  • Lead and contribute to quality improvement, research and service development initiatives that enhance adolescent mental health outcomes.
  • Provide clinical supervision, education and mentoring to psychologists, students and clinical support staff to maintain high professional standards.

Benefits when working for us

  • Rewarding career and development opportunities across a wide range of clinical and non-clinical areas
  • Value driven organisation which provides a work environment that is safe, satisfying, flexible, and promotes a healthy work-life balance
  • Flexible working arrangements and competitive salary rates with annual incremental increases
  • Benefit from a higher than standard employer contribution to Superannuation of up to 12.75% and access to salary packaging

Metro North Health offers a dynamic and progressive environment at the forefront of healthcare, research, and education. With a strong commitment to inclusion, flexibility, and professional development, we provide meaningful opportunities in a workplace that puts people first.
