About the role

Who are we?

Motley Fool Asset Management (MFAM) brings The Motley Fool's decades of investing expertise to professionally managed ETFs, helping investors put our long-term, high-conviction investing philosophy to work without having to manage individual stocks themselves. As a growing business within The Motley Fool, we combine the entrepreneurial spirit of a scaling asset manager with the strength of a trusted financial brand.

We're passionate about thoughtful investing, continuous improvement, and delivering an exceptional experience for our clients- and we're looking for people who are excited to help shape what's next.

What would you do in this role?

We are seeking an experienced, organized Project Manager to work across the entire company, giving every team a shared view of what is in flight, what is due, and what is blocked. You will be the owner of our project portfolio in Jira, building the structure, cadence, and reporting that keep teams aligned and deliverables on schedule. This is a hands-on role that calls for someone who knows Jira inside and out and who understands how an asset manager operates.

But what does this role actually do?

  1. Project Management:
  2. Track and manage company-wide projects from initiation to completion using Jira.
  3. Coordinate with team leads across portfolio management, trading, operations, compliance, legal, marketing and tech to ensure milestones are met.
  4. Monitor timelines and adjust schedules as needed to accommodate changes or delays.
  5. Dependency and Blocker Management:
  6. Identify cross-team dependencies early and make sure each team knows what it owns, what is due, and what it is blocking.
  7. Escalate blockers to leadership before they cause delays.
  8. Maintain a clear view of risks, issues, and team capacity.
  9. Jira Administration and Automation:
  10. Design and maintain Jira projects, boards, workflows, filters, and dashboards that fit how the firm works.
  11. Set up automation rules and intake forms for status notifications, overdue reminders, and new project requests.
  12. Keep Jira data accurate and consistent so it serves as the single source of truth.
  13. Documentation and Reporting:
  14. Maintain up-to-date project documentation, including runbooks and process guides.
  15. Deliver a consistent weekly view of portfolio health, timelines, and risks to leadership.
  16. Continuous Improvement:
  17. Identify opportunities to streamline how projects are taken, prioritized, and tracked.
  18. Recommend and implement lightweight best practices.

What do you need to apply?

  • 5+ years of experience as a Project Manager, preferably in asset management, ETFs, or financial services.
  • Expert-level Jira experience, including administration, workflows, dashboards, and automation.
  • Working knowledge of the ETF lifecycle and the functions around it (portfolio management, trading, operations, compliance, distribution) is strongly preferred.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across diverse teams and levels of seniority.
  • Detail-oriented, with a focus on quality and accuracy.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

We estimate the above services & deliverables to take no more than 20-25 hours a week.

Hourly Pay Range

$65—$75 USD
