About the role

In Programme Management, we ensure complex projects are managed through a number of technical, and often dynamic, stages and gateways. These must be delivered to incredibly tight, yet non-negotiable, deadlines. We operate at the centre of Mercedes AMG HPP and are responsible for facilitating seamless interaction between all of HPP’s functions, via Programme clarity and action status.

As a team we pride ourselves on challenging and developing our Graduates, trusted with significant levels of responsibility from day 1, in order to maximise performance and continually develop capability. During the 2 year programme you will gain a solid understanding of the concepts and processes used, within fast moving and dynamic F1 programmes. You will develop specific skills utilising our bespoke Product LifeCycle (PLC) software, as well as SAP, TeamCentre and Microsoft applications.

Our Programme Management Graduate scheme could offer you exposure in one, or some, of the following areas:

  • Project Planning; be part of the team that manages and controls the Engineering defined Bill of Materials (BoM) for the entire Power Unit, ensuring full hardware coverage is in place and order strategies are well understood and respected by the business, to guarantee on-time material/component supply. A strategic demand management role, enforcing absolute alignment across Engineering, Programme Management, Manufacturing and Procurement. Duties include, but are not exclusive to:
  • Full PU Bill of Material (BoM) ownership and maintenance
  • Entire PU demand creation and management across multiple projects/programmes
  • Bespoke Planning strategies for long lead-time and complex components
  • Monitoring of material budget adherence, balancing specification change against budget control
  • Processing of Engineering Change Notifications
  • Specification Control; be part of the team that manages and controls the Engineering defined specification for each individual Power Unit element we produce. Ensuring that all Engineering requests are captured and a closed loop exists between request and agreed plan. A dynamic parts requirement role that also enforces absolute alignment across Engineering, Programme Management, supply chain and build. Duties include, but are not exclusive to:
  • Chairing of the weekly spec meeting
  • On time product kitting and release to stores / build
  • Monitoring of Engineering containments and product containment status
  • Re-use demand control and donor availability
  • Build Request amendments
  • Engineering prove out test hardware tracking and specification clarity
  • Future Development Testing; be part of the team that ensures we are testing our latest performance idea’s at the maximum rate possible. From potential idea through to proven test result, this role is all about having a solid understanding of the requirement and enabling its progression through the supply chain with clear status and actions. A tactical parts management role, enforcing absolute alignment across Engineering, Programme Management, supply chain and build. Duties include, but are not exclusive to:
  • Test planning, including deadline adherence to the overall Programme Plan
  • Processing of Engineering Change Notifications
  • Product Kitting and Build Request amendments
  • Hardware delivery status on our development platform
  • Development platform demand creation and management

These opportunities are intrinsically interlinked with our Delivery team who focus on ensuring that the supply chain deliver to the agreed plan and that the products are tested ahead of the agreed deadline. Close collaboration with this team is essential to ensuring that we deliver results as efficiently as possible.
