About the role

Finvari is a fast-growing SaaS startup transforming the way construction companies handle payments. Our mission is to eliminate manual, repetitive payment tasks, empowering construction leaders to focus on building the infrastructure of tomorrow. From field employees to the C-Suite, our customer-centric software streamlines processes, improves efficiency, and drives innovation across the industry.

We're a close-knit, experienced team with a track record of building and scaling successful software companies—some of which have even gone public. At Finvari, innovation, creativity, and customer focus are at the heart of what we do. We're looking for team members who share our passion for problem-solving and want to make a direct impact. Our culture is collaborative, autonomous, and customer-obsessed.

We are looking for a Product UX Designer to shape the future of construction accounting and financial management. You should feel equally comfortable designing the system the team uses and digging into the work yourself to design complex workflows and reflect nuances in data or choices.

This is a hybrid role that allows for remote work flexibility. Once a week, we get together for in-person team collaboration and a team lunch in our Seattle office.

As the Product UX Designer, you will focus on:

  • Design Systems & Enablement
  • Own and evolve our design system as the foundation for consistent, high-quality product experiences
  • Create decision frameworks and lightweight guidelines that let PMs confidently make design calls on smaller enhancements without a dedicated designer in the room
  • Review PM-led design decisions periodically and give feedback that improves judgment over time, not just the artifact in front of you
  • Build and maintain AI-readable design system documentation
  • Stay current on design trends, tooling, and AI-assisted design workflows, and evaluate what's worth adopting
  • Collaboration
  • Pair directly with Product and Engineering from early discovery through development on large features and new products
  • Co-own with product translating ambiguous problems and business requirements into clear, testable design
  • Present design rationale clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including leadership
  • Help grow our design team by mentoring other designers on systems thinking, craft, or domain knowledge and collaborating on process improvement
  • Product & Interaction Design
  • Set the design vision for your product area and align it with overall company design strategy
  • Design end-to-end workflows for complex, multi-step financial processes (e.g., invoice approvals, multi-entity billing, vendor management, payment routing)
  • Simplify dense, data-heavy interfaces without stripping out the nuance that matters for compliance or accuracy
  • Design trust and transparency into automated decisions and human-in-the-loop workflows
  • Customer Advocacy
  • Conduct or partner on user research, usability testing, and interviews to validate design decisions before and after launch
  • Represent the user's perspective in roadmap and prioritization conversations
  • Learn the unique challenges of the construction industry and connect with users from diverse backgrounds

Minimum Qualifications

  • Self-Motivated and enthusiastic about building great software for construction accounting
  • Empathetic advocate for your customers
  • 5+ years experience as a product/UX designer on a B2B product
  • Experience with Figma and/or other design tools

Other experience (not required, we're happy for you to learn)

  • Construction accounting or construction ERPs
  • Fintech and/or payments processing
  • Construction industry

This could be a great fit if you

  • Are passionate about solving complex challenges and helping others succeed.
  • Thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment where creativity and adaptability are key.
  • Enjoy working with customers and product managers to translate their needs into actionable solutions.
  • Are a proactive problem solver who takes ownership and delivers results.
  • Believe in the power of teamwork and open collaboration to drive impact.
  • Are a curious, self-driven learner who likes the details.
  • Like rolling up your sleeves and putting the customer first.

We want you to love your work, team and environment - this may not be a good fit if you:

  • Prefer a highly structured, well-defined environment
  • Are uncomfortable being the first to figure something out

Leveling and compensation will be based on skills and experience.

Benefits include

  • 100% premium coverage for employee health insurance premiums and partial coverage for dependents.
  • Health Savings Account with a company contribution
  • Flexible Spending Account Options: Health Care and Dependent Care
  • Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance
  • 11 paid company holidays plus generous Paid Time Off (PTO) policy
  • Plus stock options so that you can participate in the company’s success!
