About the role

💡At Flinn, we’re redefining how medical device manufacturers create safer and better products 10x more efficiently. To shape the development of our existing and new products and to extend and scale our technical platform, we are looking for a Product Engineer who cares as much about the why behind a feature as the how - someone with a strong product mindset and a real interest in AI.

You will build AI-native products that increase the safety of medical devices, working directly with our customers, from discovery calls and onboarding to feedback sessions, and taking real product ownership for the features you ship, alongside our product team and senior engineers.

Why Flinn?

  • We are building a truly exceptional culture: While many companies claim to have a great culture, we invite you to discover what truly sets ours apart. Visit our career page, speak with our team, listen to our founders’ podcast, or experience our culture first-hand during the interview process.
  • Make a Meaningful Impact: Your work at Flinn contributes directly to solutions that improve people’s health and lives by making high-quality health products accessible for everyone.
  • Experienced, well-funded, highly professional: As well-funded startup veterans, we know how to sustain long-term business health and success, ensuring an environment for continuous personal growth.

What’s in it for you?

  • Join a fast-growing, well-funded European startup backed by experienced founders and investors.
  • Be part of a mission-driven health-tech company whose work directly improves people’s lives.
  • Play a key role in scaling Flinn’s GTM, shaping how we grow.
  • Work in a high-trust, low-ego environment with autonomy and clear ownership.
  • Work in a net-zero company where all unavoidable COâ‚‚ emissions are compensated with carefully selected, high-quality removal certificates.
  • Receive one of the most employee-friendly equity packages, including fair vesting terms and profit-sharing opportunities.
  • Grow in a professional, high-standard environment that supports long-term personal and career development.

Your contributions to our journey

  • Work directly with our customers: join calls, run user interviews, sit in on onboardings and demos, and turn what you hear into product decisions.
  • Take on real product responsibility: shape and prioritize what gets built, write and challenge specs, and own the outcome of your features, not just their delivery.
  • Own features end-to-end - from understanding the user need, through technical design, to shipping and iterating in production.
  • Work hands-on across the full stack: frontend (React), backend (Node.js), and the relational/non-relational databases underneath.
  • Use AI tooling as part of your day-to-day build process, and help us ship AI-powered features into the product itself.
  • Grow alongside experienced senior engineers, contribute to architecture discussions and engineering standards, and steadily take on more ownership as you develop.

What you need to be successful

  • Must-have:
  • A strong product mindset: you think about users and outcomes, not just code, and you want to own product decisions, not only implement them.
  • You genuinely enjoy talking to customers. You’re comfortable explaining technical topics to non-technical users and leading a conversation with them on your own.
  • Professional experience building and shipping production web applications.
  • Hands-on experience building with AI tooling, or building AI-powered product features.
  • Backend experience (preferably Node.js) and frontend experience (preferably React).
  • A good understanding of both relational and non-relational databases.
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic environment where not everything is defined yet.
  • Nice-to-have:
  • Experience in an early-stage startup or a 0→1 product context.
  • Experience working in a cross-functional, product-led team.
  • Products or side projects you've built and shipped yourself.

Attributes we are looking for

  • You have a positive, problem-solving mindset and a clear bias for action - you bring your own ideas and solutions proactively.
  • You speak up. We're hybrid, so if you have an opinion, a concern, or a better idea, we need you to say so.
  • You're eager to learn and grow - you actively seek feedback from more experienced engineers and share what you learn with the team.
  • You're a good communicator with both technical and non-technical people, and you give and receive direct, open feedback well.
  • You're pragmatic and adaptable, comfortable reacting to new findings in a dynamic, still-maturing environment.
  • You care about the product and the problem it solves - you see technology as a tool, not an end in itself.

We are not just looking for someone to complete Jira tickets, but rather to be actively involved in decision making (product & tech) and take ownership and initiative.

🇪🇺 At this stage of our company, we can only accept applications from people who are based in Europe with either European citizenship, an active working visa or being self-employed and joining us as a full-time contractor (Except for US-based roles).

We strive to remove barriers, eliminate discrimination, and ensure equal opportunity through our transparent recruitment process. We are open to all groups of people without regard to age, color, national origin, race, religion, gender, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity and/or expression, marital status or any other legally protected characteristic.
