As Principal Technology Sourcing, you will serve as a senior individual contributor responsible for leading complex technology sourcing initiatives with a focus on software, SaaS, and emerging technologies. You will develop sourcing strategies, evaluate technology markets and suppliers, lead competitive sourcing and RFP processes, and negotiate commercial agreements that balance business value, cost, risk, and flexibility. Working cross-functionally, you will provide strategic procurement guidance throughout the technology lifecycle and bring a strong understanding of go-to-market models and evolving technology trends to help inform investment and supplier decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategic sourcing approaches for software, SaaS, cloud, and emerging technology investments aligned with business and technology priorities.
  • Lead complex sourcing initiatives from market analysis and supplier evaluation through RFI/RFP, negotiation, contracting, and implementation support.
  • Evaluate emerging technology markets, vendors, commercial models, and capabilities to identify opportunities, risks, and strategic sourcing considerations.
  • Lead RFP development and execution, including requirements alignment, supplier selection, commercial evaluation, and recommendations.
  • Negotiate complex technology agreements, including software licensing, SaaS subscriptions, cloud services, renewals, and other commercial arrangements.
  • Apply knowledge of technology go-to-market models, pricing strategies, licensing structures, and vendor economics to strengthen sourcing and negotiation strategies.
  • Develop category and supplier strategies that improve value, manage risk, optimize spend, and support long-term technology objectives.
  • Build business cases and provide data-driven recommendations that support technology investment and vendor selection decisions.
  • Partner cross-functionally to align sourcing strategies, commercial terms, contractual requirements, and technology needs.
  • Monitor supplier performance, market trends, renewals, and emerging technologies to identify opportunities for optimization, consolidation, and continuous improvement.
  • Serve as a procurement subject matter expert for complex technology sourcing initiatives, providing guidance and sharing best practices across the organization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8+ years of progressive procurement, strategic sourcing, vendor management, or related experience, with significant experience supporting technology categories.
  • Demonstrated experience sourcing and negotiating software, SaaS, cloud, and other technology solutions.
  • Proven experience leading complex RFI and RFP processes from requirements development through supplier evaluation, selection, and negotiation.
  • Strong understanding of technology go-to-market models, software licensing, subscription and consumption-based pricing, renewals, and commercial structures.
  • Experience evaluating emerging technologies and vendor markets and translating technical and business requirements into effective sourcing strategies.
  • Proven ability to negotiate complex technology contracts and commercial terms, including MSA, SOW, SLA, licensing, and related agreements.
  • Strong financial and analytical skills with experience developing business cases, evaluating total cost of ownership, and identifying opportunities for value creation.
  • Working knowledge of commercial, security, privacy, data, intellectual property, and third-party risk considerations associated with AI and other emerging technologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate as a senior individual contributor, influence stakeholders, and lead complex initiatives without formal authority.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or in the future. PDI Technologies is unable to offer visa sponsorship for this role.
