About the role

About us

Yeppoon State School is a co-educational school. We have a wonderful team of dedicated and competent staff who work closely together to provide challenging, meaningful and rich learning experiences for all of our students. Due to this, Yeppoon State School has become renowned for high standards in academic, cultural and sporting achievements. Our aim is to provide all students with the opportunity to achieve their full potential within a safe, disciplined and supportive learning environment.

We pride ourselves on working with students, parents and carers, and the school community to deliver a first class education. As a school community we strive to provide our students with high quality educational opportunities that will empower them to be the very best that they can be academically, emotionally and socially when they exit our school at the end of year 6.

Your opportunity

As Principal, you will lead the school community to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focused on providing quality learning outcomes for all students. You will translate this vision into clear priorities and lead the implementation of strategies that support ongoing school improvement.

You will set high standards for student and staff performance and promote a culture of accountability, reflection and professional development. You will encourage staff to participate in lifelong learning and ongoing professional development, supporting the continued development of teaching and leadership practice.

You will uphold the principalship as a values-based, ethical and moral activity, demonstrating integrity and sound judgement in your leadership and decision-making. You will model high standards of professional conduct and foster trust, respect and shared responsibility across the school community.

Embedding socially just practices in daily school life will be central to your leadership. You will ensure equity and fairness are reflected in the school's practices, policies and interactions, while supporting an environment that respects the diverse needs and contributions of students, staff and the wider community.

Through purposeful leadership and engagement with the school community, you will lead continuous improvement and ensure the school's vision, priorities and practices remain focused on providing quality educational experiences for all students.
