About the role

About us

Halfords is on a journey - building the future of motoring and cycling and looking for people who want to help shape what comes next. We’re a place for co‑creators: people who want to make a real impact, take ownership and be part of something that’s still evolving.

As the UK's leading retailer of motoring and cycling products, we're supported by one of the UK's largest garage networks through Halfords Autocentres, providing servicing, maintenance and repair services nationwide. This breadth gives us a strong, stable foundation - and the freedom to keep innovating and growing.

That means real variety for our colleagues, along with the opportunity to learn, stretch and develop as the business moves forward. Whatever your role, you’ll be part of a team focused on delivering exceptional service - using your expertise to solve problems, guide customers and help keep the nation moving with confidence.

About the role

We're looking for a talented PPC Specialist to join our Performance Marketing team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in optimising paid search activity across retail for the Halfords Group.

Working across Google Ads, Bing Ads and affiliate channels, you'll help drive performance against key commercial objectives. Partnering closely with agency and internal stakeholders, you'll ensure campaigns follow industry best practice, identify opportunities for growth, and use data-driven insights to continually improve results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with internal teams and agency partners to plan and deliver data-led PPC campaigns
  • Support the management and optimisation of Paid Search activity across Google Ads and Bing Ads, ensuring alignment with channel best practices and business KPIs
  • Help grow and develop our affiliate marketing programme, managing relationships with agencies and key affiliate partners such as Quidco and HotUKDeals
  • Produce regular performance reports, providing clear insights, recommendations and opportunities to stakeholders
  • Monitor and support the ongoing optimisation of product shopping feeds to maximise campaign effectiveness

About You

  • You'll be a commercially minded PPC professional with a passion for performance marketing and a strong analytical approach
  • Proven experience managing Paid Search campaigns using platforms such as Google Ads and Google Shopping
  • Experience working within a retail environment or managing retail-focused PPC campaigns
  • A strong ability to interpret data, identify trends and turn insights into actionable recommendations
  • Experience creating and presenting digital marketing reports to communicate performance, learnings and opportunities
  • Experience working within a fast-paced environment
  • A naturally curious mindset with a desire to stay up to date with emerging marketing trends and best practices
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to build effective working relationships both internally and externally
  • Creative problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying solutions
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
  • Excellent organisation and prioritisation skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively

Desirable Experience

  • Google Ads certifications, including Search, Shopping and Analytics
  • Experience using Search Ads 360
  • Experience working with affiliate marketing platforms and channels
  • Experience within a service-led business

Reward & benefits

  • A fair and competitive salary evaluated against market data, annual discretionary bonus scheme, pension, life assurance, 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays and enhanced family leave.
  • Commitment and dedication to your ongoing personal and professional development. We help you to own and grow your potential so you can be at your best in your current role and to support your future career aspirations.
  • We offer hybrid working in our Support Centre, you will be based at our Support Centre 3 days a week with an optional 2 days working from home.
  • You will have access to a wealth of employee discounts across the Halfords suite of products and services.
  • Wellbeing and inclusion are at the heart of our colleague experience. We offer resources and ongoing support to enhance your wellbeing at work and active Colleague Networks supporting inclusion initiatives across Halfords.

Not sure you meet all the criteria? We'd encourage you to take the wheel and apply anyway! At Halfords we are committed to creating an inclusive workplace for our colleagues. We're an equal opportunities employer and proud to welcome applications from all backgrounds and embrace diversity within our one Halfords Family.
