About the role

Cleanaway Waste Management transforms waste into resources and renewable energy. When you start to think of waste as a resource, it opens a world of possibilities.

Join us and contribute to making a sustainable future possible, together!

The Opportunity

Based in the Moranbah region our On-Site Coordinator – Total Waste Management, supports a team of drivers, keeps collections running smoothly and builds strong customer relationships while championing safety, environmental compliance and recycling outcomes.

This hands-on, autonomous role offers the opportunity to grow your frontline leadership experience in a dynamic operational environment. Moranbah-based candidates are preferred, with Mackay-based applicants who can travel regularly to site also considered.

  • Coordinate daily driver schedules, bin collections and ad hoc waste pickups to deliver reliable, efficient customer service.
  • Provide day-to-day guidance to operators and drivers, resolving operational issues and escalating concerns when required.
  • Champion safety and environmental compliance through site inspections, safety observations, audits and driver ride-alongs.
  • Oversee waste handling and sorting areas, checking container integrity, maintaining quality standards and maximising recycling opportunities.
  • Coordinate vehicle and equipment safety checks, non-technical inspections and general site maintenance in line with procedures.
  • Build trusted relationships with mining customers, conducting regular site visits and discussing service performance and waste requirements.
  • Partner with operations and sales teams on changing site needs, additional collections and waste management solutions.

About You

You’re a proactive, approachable self-starter who enjoys being on site, solving problems and bringing people together. With experience in transport, logistics or an industrial operations environment, you’ll be confident balancing changing priorities while maintaining high safety and service standards.

  • Experience coordinating drivers, operators or frontline teams, with the ability to build trust and support a positive team culture.
  • Working knowledge of transport, logistics or industrial operations; waste, mining, manufacturing or oil and gas experience is advantageous.
  • A strong commitment to workplace safety, environmental compliance and responsible waste management practices.
  • Excellent customer service, communication and stakeholder relationship-building skills.
  • Well-developed planning, scheduling and problem-solving skills, with flexibility to respond to changing operational demands.
  • Confidence using Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook and Excel, and the ability to learn operational scheduling systems.
  • A current HR driver's licence is preferred to support operational and site-based requirements.
