About the role

Be the backbone of a high-performing civil infrastructure team.

BMD is seeking an experienced Office Manager to join our Queensland team. Reporting to the Project Director, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of a major civil infrastructure project office while providing high-level support to the Project Director and Senior Leadership Team.

Based in Brisbane, this role is ideal for a highly organised professional who thrives in fast-paced project environments and enjoys being the central point of coordination that keeps teams operating efficiently. We are specifically seeking someone with previous experience supporting large-scale civil infrastructure, construction or engineering projects who understands the unique demands of a project-based environment.

If you love bringing structure to complexity, building strong working relationships and creating an environment where project teams can perform at their best, we'd love to hear from you.

About the Role

As Office Manager, you will act as the central coordination point for the project team, supporting day-to-day office operations, workforce logistics, onboarding activities, facilities management and administration functions.

No two days will be the same. You'll be responsible for creating an efficient, professional and welcoming environment that enables project teams to focus on delivering critical infrastructure projects across Queensland.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of the project office
  • Manage office facilities, equipment, supplies and building requirements
  • Coordinate meeting rooms, workshops and leadership meetings
  • Provide administrative and coordination support to the Project Director and Senior Leadership Team
  • Manage office assets, including IT equipment, fleet requirements and asset registers
  • Coordinate employee onboarding and mobilisation activities, including inductions and workspace set-up
  • Liaise with People & Culture, IT, Finance and HSEQ teams to support project operations
  • Coordinate project events, team functions, workshops and stakeholder visits
  • Arrange travel, accommodation and logistics for project personnel
  • Assist with project administration, reporting and documentation
  • Foster a professional, welcoming and high-performing office environment
  • Support workforce planning and project administration activities as required

Skills and Experience

To be successful in this role, you will be a confident and adaptable administration professional who enjoys working across a broad range of responsibilities and building strong relationships.

You will bring:

  • Previous experience as an Office Manager, Senior Administrator, Project Administrator or Executive Assistant within a civil infrastructure, construction, engineering or project delivery environment
  • Demonstrated experience supporting large-scale infrastructure or construction projects
  • Exceptional organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement capabilities
  • High attention to detail and the ability to work with discretion and confidentiality
  • A proactive and solutions-focused approach
  • Experience coordinating office operations, workforce mobilisation, onboarding and project logistics
  • The ability to build effective working relationships across all levels of a business
  • A commitment to maintaining BMD's values and positive team culture

Why BMD?
