About the role

What your day could look like

As a Mental Health Worker, you'll help young people experiencing mental health challenges build confidence, resilience and pathways to a better wellbeing. Working alongside a supportive multidisciplinary team, you'll deliver care that makes a meaningful difference for individuals, families and communities across the Darling Downs.

Every day, you'll contribute by:

  • Delivering evidence-informed interventions that support recovery, independence and positive mental health outcomes.
  • Building strong partnerships with young people, families, carers and service providers to ensure coordinated, person-centred care.
  • Using your clinical expertise to assess needs, guide care planning and achieve meaningful progress for the people you support.
  • Contributing to service improvement, shared learning and innovative practices that strengthen the quality of care.

Let's talk about you!

You bring both professional expertise and genuine care to your work. You communicate with empathy, collaborate with ease and remain focused on achieving the best possible outcomes for young people and their families. You're motivated by the opportunity to create lasting impact, strengthen community wellbeing and be part of a team that values compassion, integrity and innovation.

Here's what will help you thrive in this role:

  • Relevant qualification and current registration, certification or professional membership within your discipline.
  • Experience delivering evidence-based care in mental health, community or youth-focused settings.
  • Strong communication, assessment and relationship-building skills.
  • A collaborative approach and commitment to continuous learning and improvement.

You'll stand out from the crowd if you have experience working with adolescents and families and/or additional training in mental health, recovery-oriented practice or clinical supervision.

Most importantly, we're looking for someone passionate about helping young people thrive and committed to making a positive difference through compassionate, person-centred care.
