About the role

Scholar Rock is delivering muscle-targeted breakthroughs to transform the treatment of spinal muscular atrophy (SMA) and other rare neuromuscular diseases where muscle atrophy remains a critical unmet need.

As a global leader in myostatin biology, a field focused on proteins that regulate muscle mass, the biopharmaceutical company is named for the visual resemblance of a scholar rock to protein structures. Our commitment to unlock fundamentally different treatment approaches is powered by broad application of a proprietary platform, which has developed novel monoclonal antibodies to modulate protein growth factors with extraordinary selectivity. Scholar Rock works every day to create new possibilities for patients through its highly innovative anti-myostatin program, including opportunities in additional rare neuromuscular diseases. Summary of Position

The Senior Manager, Medical Information, EMEA will be responsible for developing, managing, and delivering high-quality, accurate, and compliant medical information content to support unsolicited requests from healthcare professionals. Based in Europe and operating within a global matrix, this individual will ensure timely and accurate responses are being provided to healthcare professionals in response to their inquiries. This role necessitates a comprehensive understanding of medical information with a strong emphasis on project management, medical writing, and strategic thinking.

Position Responsibilities

  • Create custom responses to address escalated requests from the European Medical Information Call Center in addition to supporting the development of responses at the global level.
  • Ensure call center agents are equipped with up-to-date scientific content and trained to respond accurately and professionally to HCP inquiries.
  • Monitor and analyze inquiry trends and insights to inform scientific communications and strategic planning.
  • Support the adaptation and localization of existing Global Medical Information content (e.g., standard response letters) for EMEA and country-specific needs, and partner with appropriate stakeholders to ensure alignment with applicable European regulations, industry codes, company policies, and medical review processes.
  • Partner with international partner markets to ensure consistent responses across different regions.
  • Other duties within broader Global Scientific Communications as periodically assigned.

Candidate Requirements

  • Advanced scientific or healthcare degree (e.g., Pharm.D., Ph.D., or equivalent) preferred; a relevant master's degree with substantial medical communications experience may be considered.
  • 3+ years of experience in medical information, medical communications or a related biopharmaceutical industry role; rare disease or neuromuscular experience is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience developing medical content (e.g., custom responses, standard responses) for healthcare professional audiences and translating complex scientific information into clear, concise, and scientifically accurate communications.
  • Experience working across European markets, including content adaptation or localization and collaboration with regional and country medical teams.
  • Knowledge of relevant European pharmaceutical regulations, industry codes, compliance requirements, and medical review processes.
  • Strong project-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, stakeholders, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
