About the role

LA28 does not provide relocation assistance for any positions. If you are based outside the Los Angeles area, we still welcome your application — we value talent from all geographic backgrounds and want to hear from you if you are able to work on-site in LA.

Role Purpose

Build workforce and resource plans that help Event Visitor Services deliver welcoming Olympic and Paralympic venues. You will connect venue requirements with staffing forecasts and deployment strategies, including temporary paid workforce recruitment and placement. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Workforce & Experience, you will develop schedules, reports, dashboards and operational plans in complex environments. This requires analytical problem-solving, data-informed decisions, detail-oriented communication, collaboration and stakeholder management, project management and organization, and managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment with evolving priorities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead workforce planning, staffing models and deployment plans, aligning venue allocations and schedules with operational requirements and service standards.
  • Manage equipment inventory and distribution: radios, information booth equipment and furnishings, uniforms, signage, supplies and workforce-related assets.
  • Coordinate EVS, Volunteer Operations, Logistics, Technology and venue stakeholders on staffing risks, operational testing, simulations, exercises and test events.
  • Develop workforce reports, dashboards and performance metrics supporting operational decisions, venue readiness and improvements.
  • Monitor Games-time staffing, resolve operational issues and shortfalls through resource deployment and staff redeployment, and support FCC and MOC staffing resolution.

Required Competencies

  • Bachelor's degree; or 5 years of equivalent experience in Event Visitor Services workforce planning or operations.
  • 5+ years of experience in workforce planning, operations management, event operations, venue operations, hospitality, customer service operations, or related fields.
  • Experience managing large-scale staffing plans, workforce deployment, or operational resource management, including workforce forecasts, staffing models, deployment plans and operational strategies.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications, with experience developing schedules, reports, dashboards and operational plans.
  • Strong project management, analytical and problem-solving skills, with detail-oriented communication, collaboration, stakeholder management and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Valued Experience

  • Experience supporting sporting events, entertainment venues, convention centers or hospitality.
  • Experience with volunteers and large temporary workforces.
  • Familiarity with workforce management, scheduling, rostering or operational planning systems.
  • Experience supporting readiness programs, test events or live delivery.
  • Experience managing guest service infrastructure, equipment, logistics or multi-venue Games.

What We Offer

  • Shape workforce plans supporting welcoming Olympic and Paralympic venues and services.
  • Collaborate with teammates across Event Visitor Services, workforce, logistics and technology.
  • Develop transferable operational skills through planning, testing and Games-time problem-solving responsibilities.
  • Take pride in shared success supporting well-prepared venues and visitors.

What This Role Means for the Games

Reliable staffing and equipment help teammates deliver consistent visitor services. Your plans connect people, resources and operational decisions before and during the Games. Through co-creation, integrity, excellence and inclusion, you help teams respond when venue needs change.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

  • Available to work onsite in our Downtown Los Angeles-based office.
  • The majority of work will be conducted in an office setting, requiring extended periods of time using computers, phones, and other office equipment.
  • The LA28 office is an open floorplan working environment; employees must be able to work efficiently in an open cubicle environment.
  • Hours of work may vary, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, especially during peak event periods.
  • Perform other duties as required; the role will evolve over time and may include operational responsibilities during the Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Compensation

The annual base salary range for this position is $88,000 - $110,000. The pay scale provided is the range that LA28 reasonably expects to pay as starting base compensation for this role.
