Who we are

At Hiverge, we're transforming the algorithms the world runs on. We're building a platform that orchestrates thousands of AI research agents to discover new computational approaches to solve the highest-value challenges.

Our founding team is composed of world-class researchers from Google DeepMind and University of Cambridge, having co-developed AlphaTensor, FunSearch, AlphaEvolve and Nobel-prize winning AlphaFold. At Hiverge, you will be working with the brightest minds in AI, algorithms, and mathematics.

If you’re passionate about AI and eager to shape transformative technologies, we’d love to hear from you.

About this role

We are seeking a Machine Learning Engineer to work at the intersection of AI research, software engineering, and real-world optimisation. You will help advance the capabilities of our AI discovery engine, develop agentic systems, and apply our technology to challenging problems.

You will:

  • Research and implement techniques to improve the reasoning, planning, and problem-solving capabilities of AI agents, including post-training approaches.
  • Design and build agentic systems that collaborate to solve complex optimisation problems.
  • Develop evaluation frameworks and run experiments to improve system capabilities and efficiency.
  • Build prototypes, tools, and integrations to apply our technology to real-world challenges.
  • Collaborate closely with researchers, engineers, and external partners to turn promising ideas into practical solutions.

Qualifications

  • Strong programming skills in Python, with experience building complex software systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a solid foundation in algorithms and software engineering.
  • Familiarity with machine learning concepts, language models, and modern AI frameworks.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across disciplines.

What sets you apart

  • Experience with LLM post-training, reinforcement learning, or fine-tuning.
  • Experience with agentic systems, planning, or reasoning frameworks.
  • Background in algorithms, mathematical optimisation, or machine learning.
  • Experience with GPU programming, distributed systems, or performance optimisation.
  • Experience deploying AI systems or building production software.
  • Contributions to open-source projects or published research.
  • Experience working in a fast-moving startup environment.

We offer competitive compensation, generous benefits, and a stimulating work environment with the opportunity to contribute to the future of AI.
