About the role

Waverly Advisors’ primary goal is to serve our clients, one another, and our communities. We aren’t your typical wealth management firm. Our intense client focus is at the center of everything we do. We go far beyond just managing our clients’ investments, offering truly in-depth financial planning. We set ourselves apart by actually living and acting on our guiding principle, ‘Serve.’ It is the reason we go to work every day.

In this role, you’ll be challenged to take on work that upholds our guiding principle and drives Waverly Advisors forward. We hope you’ll grow as a person and leader in your field and transform those around you as well.

We are looking to add a M&A Project and Relationship Manager who will serve as the primary relationship manager for prospective partner firms throughout the pre-close merger and acquisition process. This candidate is responsible for creating a seamless and positive experience for acquisition partners from initial engagement through transaction close. Acting as the central point of contact, the Partnership Success Manager builds trust with firm leadership, coordinates cross-functional internal resources, manages timelines, and ensures all parties remain aligned throughout the integration planning and due diligence process.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary relationship manager for prospective partner firms throughout the pre-close acquisition lifecycle.
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with firm principals, advisors, and key stakeholders.
  • Guide prospective partners through each phase of the acquisition process, ensuring a smooth and positive experience.
  • Coordinate communication between prospective partners and internal departments, including executive leadership, operations, compliance, finance, technology, marketing, and human resources.
  • Facilitate meetings, track action items, and manage follow-up activities to maintain momentum throughout active transactions.
  • Monitor transaction timelines, identify potential risks or delays, and proactively drive issue resolution.
  • Partner with internal teams to support due diligence and integration planning activities.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, status updates, and stakeholder communications.
  • Ensure prospective partners have a clear understanding of key milestones, expectations, and next steps.
  • Collaborate with post-close integration teams to ensure a smooth handoff at transaction close.
  • Maintain detailed records, documentation, and activity tracking within applicable systems.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to the firm's acquisition and onboarding process.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Communications, Management, or a related field, preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in relationship management, client success, project management, business development, M&A support, or a related field.
  • Experience within the wealth management, financial services, RIA, banking, consulting, or professional services industry, strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365.
  • Strong ability to manage multiple complex projects and stakeholders simultaneously.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Proven ability to build credibility and trust with executive-level stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and adapt in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Experience working with CRM, project management, and workflow systems, strongly preferred.
  • High degree of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality.

Travel

  • Some travel is required.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.

Benefits

  • Comprehensive Health, Dental, and Vision coverage to support your overall well‑being.
  • 401(k) retirement plan with match and profit sharing to help you invest in your future.
  • Twelve paid holidays each year.
  • An extra vacation day during your birthday week—so you can celebrate you!
  • Responsible Time Off Policy giving flexibility without annual PTO limits, while balancing team responsibilities and business needs.
  • Paid sabbatical program: Enjoy four consecutive weeks of paid time off after seven years of service.
  • Compensation commensurate with experience.
