About the Role

We take pride in the ground we work in – competent rock, a strong safety culture and a modern Sandvik fleet that sets you up for success. You’ll find a supportive team environment with real pathways for development, working in technically challenging conditions that build depth in your skills and exposure to precision underground mining.

As we move toward 2.2 million tonnes per annum, production drilling accuracy becomes increasingly important. Our Long Hole Drillers are central to delivering quality stopes that drive predictable production and minimise dilution.

Working in technically varied ore bodies, you’ll operate modern Sandvik long hole production drills, drilling to tight tolerances and collaborating closely with geology and engineering to execute designed stope plans.

This is a role for operators who understand that drilling precision directly impacts tonnes, grade and recovery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate long hole production drill rigs
  • Drill production rings in accordance with design specifications
  • Maintain drilling accuracy to minimise overbreak and dilution
  • Conduct equipment inspections and basic maintenance
  • Collaborate with charge-up and technical teams to ensure stope readiness

Requirements

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Strong commitment to safety and team-based work
  • Proven experience operating long hole production drills
  • Strong understanding of ring design and drilling accuracy requirements
  • Experience in remnant or technically complex stoping environments (desirable)
  • Commitment to maintaining clean and efficient working areas
  • Ability to follow procedures and work to plan
  • Current Manual C-Class Driver’s Licence

Benefits

Why Catalyst?

That’s why we place strong emphasis on creating a supportive team culture, approachable leadership and an environment where people work hard, back each other in, and still find time to have a laugh and enjoy what site has to offer.

We offer:

  • 8:6 / 7:7 roster promoting genuine work-life balance
  • Health insurance eligibility
  • Salary sacrifice options including novated lease, airport car parking and more
  • Short commute from camp to site with own private room
  • Fully equipped gym, swimming pool, multipurpose sports court and more
  • Exposure to a growing and expanding underground operation
  • Opportunity to contribute beyond your core role and influence how we operate
  • Supportive and collaborative site leadership team
  • Ongoing development and internal progression opportunities

This role offers genuine development potential for someone looking to build their career within a growing Australian mining business.
