About FormPhil

FormPhil is part of CORTO, a cutting-edge software company dedicated to revolutionising the legal industry. Our mission is to empower legal practitioners with AI-driven solutions that streamline their workflow, boost productivity, and provide more efficient client service. Working alongside our Sydney-based team of passionate high achievers, you’ll join a fast-growing technology business where things rarely stay the same for long - and if you’re smart, caring, and ambitious, you’ll be in great company.

AI is transforming the legal industry and CORTO is at the forefront of this change. There is a huge opportunity for law firms to save time, money and to add more value to their client base. This is where FormPhil comes in. FormPhil is a startup product transforming the way legal work is done to unlock new value for law firms and their clients. We will be utilising our in-house expertise and the power of AI to save hours of work and transform the way law firms provide access to legal justice.

Our goal is to automate the filling in of any legal form in the world. We’ll start by integrating seamlessly with LEAP Legal Software’s ecosystem, then the rest of ATI’s well-known platforms (Infotrack, Smokeball etc).

What you’ll do

This is a technical role for professionals with a legal background who are transitioning into the technology sector. This is a position unique to the LEAP ecosystem, so you'll be provided with extensive training and guidance from your wider team to set you up for success - you just need to bring your passion for exploring technology.

Your legal background means you have the eye we need to format and embed legal forms across all areas of law into our platform. You’ll work closely with subject matter experts to understand the purpose of each form, the information it requires, and how people complete and use it. You’ll understand how each form works, configure it using the platform’s existing capabilities, validate the result, and identify where small code changes or new product capabilities are needed.

To make this happen, you will

  • Understand forms and their requirements. Work with subject matter experts (lawyers) to understand form structure, required information, rules, dependencies and exceptions.
  • Configure forms using existing capabilities. Set up form structure, fields, data mappings, validation and conditional behaviour using the platform’s configuration tools and established patterns.
  • Turn capability gaps into actionable tickets. Identify requirements the platform cannot yet support and explain the user need, current limitation and expected behaviour.
  • Validate the complete form experience. Check that the configuration behaves as intended. Cover normal use, missing information, conditional paths, validation and relevant edge cases. Coordinate subject-matter review and resolve issues before release.
  • Keep forms current and reliable. Update configurations as source forms, portal requirements or agreed workflows change. Investigate reported issues, distinguish configuration problems from software defects, and either resolve them or provide a clear escalation.
  • Make implementation repeatable. Document configuration patterns, decisions, test scenarios and known limitations. Identify repeated manual work and suggest improvements to tooling, templates and processes that help the team add and maintain forms more efficiently.

What you’ll bring

  • At least two years’ experience working on legal matters, in any area of law
  • Familiarity with legal forms, government portals or other rules-heavy professional systems
  • Experience with Word document automation software
  • Confidence using AI tools as part of your day-to-day work
  • A methodical approach to problem-solving and an eye for detail

CORTO is an inclusive, people-first company committed to breaking down institutional barriers that keep people from reaching their potential. If you meet some, but not all the requirements above, we encourage you to still submit your application.

You are the type of person who

  • Is passionate about enhancing your technical career. Maybe you've completed a Software Development course, or maybe you've already started your technical career - if you want to transfer these skills/passions into LegalTech then this is the opportunity for you!
  • Has the ability to think out of the box – not all our tasks are standard so neither are the solutions. You like to try different and novel ways to deal with work problems and opportunities.
  • Has strong attention to detail. You notice differences in wording, rules, dependencies and outcomes. You understand that a configuration can look correct while still behaving incorrectly in a particular scenario.
  • Has an affinity towards continuous learning - you are driven by your curiosity to always be better

Why join CORTO?

  • Your work matters. We solve real world problems that improve and support local, everyday law firms. So they can do their best work for the people in the communities they serve.
  • Make an impact. You won’t be another ‘cog in the wheel’ here. We give full trust and autonomy for you to be heard, to work on big & complex projects – and to make a real difference.
  • Work with a group of authentic, passionate people who love what they do.
  • Well-funded and global. CORTO is part of ATI – one of the largest international LegalTech companies.
  • Flexible and hybrid working. We engage, share, and collaborate on ideas and workflows.
  • Career and learning opportunities; we move fast and need smart people to get us where we're going. We are a scaling business and looking for people who want to grow with us.
  • Have fun with us. Celebrations. Socials. Sports teams. Access to sailing and yacht events.
  • We value your well-being - Wellness focus with additional time off, gym membership and other perks.
  • Fast-paced tech environment, if we don't disrupt ourselves someone else will do it!
  • Access to LEAP Home - a program unique to LEAP to support you in buying your primary residence.
