About the role

About Antithesis

We build a platform that finds the bugs other testing approaches never see. Antithesis runs your entire system inside a deterministic simulation, breaks it in every way we can think of, and hands you a root cause with a perfect reproduction — no flaky tests, no false positives, no "works on my machine." Engineering teams debug faster and ship with far more confidence.

AI-generated code has made this work more urgent than ever. Agents write code faster than any human can, but faster code isn’t better code if it’s buggy, stuck in review, or quietly failing in production. The verification bottleneck is real, and it’s growing. That is precisely the problem Antithesis exists to solve. We’ve spent years quietly rethinking how the world approaches software reliability, and we’re just getting started.

We’re well-funded, deeply technical, and headquartered in Northern Virginia with satellite offices in London, San Francisco, and Singapore. Our team is in the office daily, which is how we take on hard problems together. If that sounds like fun to you, keep reading.

About the Role

Antithesis is looking for a Legal Counsel to serve as a key legal partner to the business as we grow. In this role, you will support vendor and customer contracting, lead the company’s privacy work, support our international subsidiaries, and build the internal policies that help the company scale responsibly.

This role is well suited for someone who enjoys working at the intersection of law, product, and business strategy, and who likes covering a broad range of matters. You should be comfortable handling commercial and privacy issues, partnering with senior stakeholders, and balancing speed, judgment, and rigor in a fast-moving environment.

What You’ll Do

  • Vendor contracting: Review and negotiate vendor and procurement agreements, including software, cloud infrastructure, and professional services contracts, partnering with finance to build processes to keep purchasing moving
  • Customer contracts: Draft, review, and negotiate customer agreements, including SaaS agreements, order forms and related amendments, and advise sales and finance on deal structure, risk allocation, and negotiation strategy
  • Regulatory and Compliance: Lead the company’s privacy work including policies and review of vendor terms; advise on regulatory and compliance matters impacting the company
  • International subsidiaries: Support the company’s international subsidiaries on commercial, corporate, and local compliance matters, coordinating with outside counsel in the relevant jurisdictions
  • Internal policies: Draft, maintain, and roll out internal policies, and help employees understand and apply them in their day-to-day work
  • Create and refine templates, playbooks, and approval paths that bring consistency and speed to recurring contract and privacy issues
  • Provide business-focused legal advice on general corporate matters that enables thoughtful decision-making across the company

What Success Looks Like

  • Customer deals move at the pace the business needs, without the company taking on risk it didn’t understand or intend
  • Vendor contracts are turned around promptly, with privacy, security, and liability terms that protect the company
  • International subsidiaries stay in good standing and get responsive, practical legal support
  • Employees have clear, practical internal policies that they understand and follow
  • Stakeholders across the company treat Legal as a partner that helps them get to yes in a manner that protects the company, not a checkpoint to route around

What You Bring

  • J.D. and active bar membership in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction (see Virginia requirement below)
  • 5-10 combined years of experience at a top tier law firm or in-house.
  • Significant experience handling commercial transactions, with a strong mix of vendor-side and customer-facing contracting
  • Hands-on experience with privacy matters, such as privacy policies, data processing agreements, and vendor privacy review, along with working knowledge of frameworks like GDPR, UK GDPR, and U.S. state privacy laws
  • Experience supporting international subsidiaries or cross-border matters, including managing outside counsel abroad, is a plus
  • Experience drafting and implementing internal company policies
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with cross-functional partners
  • Strong attention to detail without losing sight of the broader business context

You May Be a Great Fit If

  • You’re willing to roll up your sleeves, take on new challenges and pitch in where needed
  • You can distinguish between theoretical risk and real business risk
  • You enjoy being a close partner to sales, finance, and operational teams
  • You are comfortable moving between a customer negotiation, a privacy question, and a subsidiary matter in the same day
  • You like designing repeatable legal processes, not just handling one-off matters
  • You thrive in roles that require both sound legal analysis and strong commercial instincts

Licensing Requirement

Candidates should be barred in Virginia or able to qualify as a Part I Corporate Counsel in Virginia.
