About the role

Labhouse is a Barcelona-based startup studio building AI-powered mobile apps used by hundreds of thousands of people worldwide. Our products — including Invoice Fly and Summary AI — are designed to make everyday tasks faster, smarter, and simpler through a subscription model that puts the user first.

We were founded by Andrés Bou and Horacio Martos, the duo behind SocialPoint (acquired by Take-Two Interactive), and we operate with the mindset of a product company: small teams, high ownership, and a relentless focus on building things that matter.

Would you like to make an impact as part of a company that builds the best mobile apps used by millions of users worldwide? If so, discover your next challenge below.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and driven Lead Mobile Developer who will play a pivotal role in our development team. As a lead, you will take ownership of the end-to-end product lifecycle, from architecture design to deployment. You will define technical guidelines, mentor junior developers, and ensure that our apps are built on scalable, efficient, and innovative architectures.

In this role, you will also have the exciting opportunity to integrate AI models into our new apps through APIs, pushing the boundaries of what our products can achieve.

About You

Academic background

  • Degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications Engineering, or a related technical field.

Technical expertise

  • Strong knowledge of Flutter and Dart, with proven experience in building and maintaining mobile apps.
  • Solid understanding of infrastructure with AWS and/or GCP, including architecture design, deployment, and scalability.
  • Experience working with and managing diverse architectures, with the ability to evaluate and implement the most suitable approach for each product.
  • Knowledge of Firebase services (Firestore, Authentication, Storage, Functions) and familiarity with API integrations.
  • Ability to define and implement coding standards, best practices, and scalable architectures.
  • High agility and ability to implement changes in the app very quickly, adapting to product needs with speed and precision.

Leadership skills

  • Proven experience leading or mentoring development teams.
  • Ability to guide and upskill junior developers, fostering their growth and performance.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills to ensure deadlines are met without compromising quality.

Problem-solving and product focus

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to resolve complex technical challenges.
  • Eye for detail and a product-first mindset, with a passion for creating exceptional user experiences.
  • Self-driven, entrepreneurial attitude with the ability to work autonomously and take ownership of projects.

Communication

  • Good level of spoken and written English.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including design, product, and marketing.

Nice to have

  • Experience in integrating AI models into mobile applications.
  • Knowledge of backend technologies (e.g., Typescript, Python, Node.js, Java).
  • Experience launching personal or side projects, especially apps.
  • Native iOS development experience is highly valued.

What we Offer

  • Remote work from anywhere in Spain. If you are based in Barcelona, we would love for you to join us at the office (Barcelona Tech City) at least two days a week.
  • Flexible working hours.
  • Competitive compensation
  • High-end equipment for your development.
  • Permanent contract with competitive compensation.
  • A young and top entrepreneurial team in a dynamic startup environment.
  • Opportunity to lead, grow, and take on big challenges.
  • Work with cutting-edge technologies, including the chance to integrate AI models into new apps.

The Process

  1. Initial Interview: Meet with our Talent Acquisition Lead to discuss your background and fit for the role. We’ll also ask you to share your proudest projects – not the code, but the visual side of the apps: links, screenshots, or demo videos that show what you've built.
  2. Hiring Manager Interview: A deep dive into your experience and leadership capabilities.
  3. Technical Assessment: Showcase your expertise through a practical task.
  4. Final Interview: A conversation with our leadership team to align on vision and expectations.
  5. Offer: Join our team and lead the development of our future-shaping apps!
