About the role

This role is located in Budapest, Hungary - We are a hybrid work environment and are in the office 3+ days/per week.

Tulip, the leader in AI-native frontline operations, is helping companies around the world equip their workforce with composable, connected apps, leading to higher quality work, improved efficiency, and end-to-end traceability across operations. Tulip’s cloud-native, no-code platform, powered by embedded AI, is driving the digital transformation of industrial environments through composable, human-centric solutions that go beyond disrupting the Manufacturing Execution System (MES) category.

A spinoff out of MIT, Tulip is headquartered in Somerville, MA, with offices in Germany, Hungary, Singapore, Israel and Japan. Tulip has been recognized as a World Economic Forum Global Innovator, a 2024 Deloitte Technology Fast award winner, one of Energage’s Top Workplaces USA, and one of Built In Boston’s “Best Places to Work” and “Best Midsize Places to Work.”

About You

  • You’re hands-on and service-oriented, as comfortable resolving a support ticket as leading a strategic project.
  • You find root causes and reduce impact quickly.
  • You communicate clearly with technical and non-technical colleagues, and you own projects from scoping through delivery.
  • You’re comfortable with AI and automation tools, and you balance day-to-day support with longer-term strategic work.

What skills do I need?

  • 4+ years of experience in IT engineering, system administration, and network management
  • Solid understanding of identity and access management (single sign-on, multi-factor authentication, directory services, device trust) and enterprise device management across macOS, Windows, and Linux
  • Strong networking and security fundamentals: enterprise Wi-Fi, VPN, network hardware, and IT security best practices
  • Experience with scripting, automation, and AI tools
  • Nice to have: infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Terraform), cloud platform familiarity (AWS, Azure, or similar), or relevant networking, security, or cloud certifications
  • Nice to have: compliance experience (SOC 2, NIS2, or similar) and high-growth startup experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent working experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer and improve identity and access management systems, including authentication policies, device trust, and automated onboarding and offboarding for accurate, timely access.
  • Manage office network infrastructure (secure wireless, VPN, and hardware) across global offices, and implement security controls that protect the network and connected systems.
  • Oversee the device management platform, keeping configurations and policies consistent across device types and the full device lifecycle.
  • Build and maintain monitoring and alerting for critical IT systems (identity, devices, network, and core SaaS), with centralized alerting and runbooks so any team member can triage independently.
  • Manage automation and infrastructure-as-code, using AI tooling to reduce toil, and audit backup coverage and develop disaster recovery plans, including runbooks and tabletop exercises.
  • Lead the IT roadmap, from project execution to stakeholder communication, while handling IT support requests when needed, turning recurring issues into systemic improvements, and keeping IT documentation current.

Key Collaborators

  • IT, TechOps, and Security teams
  • Operations and People Ops partners
