About the role

Deligo is a leader in visual AI self-checkout for the convenience retail industry, trusted by global brands like Compass, Sodexo, Marks & Spencer, and Spar.

We build advanced visual AI - developed by a top-notch machine learning team - to recognize food and retail items instantly. No barcodes, no manual scanning. Just place your items and tap to pay: it’s that simple. The result: a magical experience that improves everyday lives by saving time standing in checkout lines.

But this isn’t just exceptional tech: We are a tight-knit team of curious, passionate and ambitious builders who take pride in our craft and value trust in everything we do. If you’re looking to join a rocket ship and help redefine the future of AI-powered checkout, we’d love to meet you! 🚀

Role at a glance

As an Integrations Engineer, you’ll own the delivery of Deligo’s POS, payment, hardware, and partner API integrations from initial scoping through rollout and ongoing improvement.

This is a hybrid role combining client-facing technical project ownership with hands-on engineering work. You’ll coordinate people, requirements, timelines, and decisions across Product, Engineering, Operations, QA, and external partners. You’ll also work directly on integration tasks: investigating issues, testing API flows, adjusting configurations and mappings, writing scripts or lightweight code, and supporting launches.

AI-assisted development is a core part of the role. You’ll use AI tools to help investigate unfamiliar systems, implement and adapt code, debug issues, write tests, and maintain documentation. You’ll bring the technical judgment to review, validate, and improve that work before it reaches production.

This isn’t a traditional project manager role. We’re looking for someone who can move an integration forward independently, contribute directly to the technical solution, and know when to bring in Engineering for larger changes.

How you’ll make a difference

  • Own integration delivery from scoping to launch: Clarify requirements, assess dependencies and technical constraints, agree on a plan, and keep work moving through testing, rollout, and follow-up
  • Deliver POS, payment, hardware, and API integrations: Configure and adapt integrations, map data between systems, validate API flows, and help bring new partner solutions into Deligo’s checkout experience
  • Do the technical work directly: Make appropriate changes to configuration, mappings, scripts, and lightweight integration code, for larger changes, work with Product and Engineering to define the solution and coordinate implementation
  • Use AI tools throughout the delivery process: Apply AI-assisted development to investigate systems, draft or adapt code, debug problems, create tests, and document changes and review and validate AI-generated work for correctness, security, and reliability
  • Investigate escalated integration issues: Triage cases from Customer Operations, reproduce problems, inspect logs and API behavior, identify likely root causes, and coordinate fixes through to verification
  • Coordinate work across teams and partners: Keep Product, Engineering, QA, Operations, and external developers aligned on decisions, owners, dependencies, and next steps
  • Verify changes before and after release: Plan and run integration tests, confirm fixes against requirements, support deployments and pilots, and track issues that emerge after launch
  • Keep integration information reliable: Maintain technical documentation, configuration details, version history, known issues, and rollout status
  • Improve how integrations are delivered and supported: Identify recurring issues and manual work, then help improve monitoring, tooling, automation, reusable patterns, and delivery measures

What makes you a great fit

  • 3–5+ years of experience in technical project management, implementation, solution delivery, or a similar cross-functional technical role
  • At least 2 years of hands-on software development experience, ideally with backend systems or integrations
  • Strong understanding of APIs, SaaS systems, and data exchange between connected platforms
  • Comfortable debugging, testing, and implementing technical changes yourself
  • Practical experience using AI coding or development tools as part of real work, with the judgment to review and validate their output
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Able to explain technical findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Highly organized, analytical, and proactive in solving problems
  • Comfortable working in a fast-moving environment with changing priorities
  • Collaborative communicator who can work across Product, Operations, Engineering, QA, and external partners
  • Willingness to occasionally join partner or customer meetings and deployments ✈️

Bonus

  • Experience with POS or payment integrations, such as MCR, Adyen, FreedomPay, Stripe, or Kanpla
  • Familiarity with .NET, SQL, scripting, Postman, or lightweight backend implementation
  • Experience in a startup, scale-up, fintech, retail-tech, or payments environment
  • Experience onboarding partners or delivering integrations across different markets
  • Proficiency in French or German

Why join us

  • Opportunity to join at an early stage and make a visible impact in a fast-scaling startup
  • Real influence over how our integrations, product operations, and delivery processes evolve
  • A high-ownership hybrid role where you can shape both delivery and technical execution
  • A collaborative, creative, and transparent culture where contributions are recognized
  • A spacious, dog-friendly office in the heart of Budapest, with great transport, tasty snacks, and team events
  • High-tech equipment
  • Flexible working hours and a hybrid approach
  • Competitive salary

  • Start: As soon as you are ready
  • Location: Budapest. We operate with an office-first approach and typically work from the office 3–4 days per week
  • Contract: Permanent
  • Compensation: Competitive package based on experience
