About the Opportunity

We’re looking for a hands-on and proactive HR Manager to support and drive our people operations in Malta. This role will take ownership of key local HR activities including payroll, onboarding, benefits, employee relations, immigration and HR compliance, while ensuring our people processes run accurately and efficiently.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys working with autonomy and taking ownership. We’re looking for someone who can hit the ground running, bring strong knowledge of the Maltese HR landscape, identify improvements and proactively drive solutions, rather than waiting for direction.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Own and coordinate the monthly Malta payroll process, ensuring accuracy, compliance and timely delivery while partnering with external payroll providers.
  • Manage payroll records, timesheets, benefits and related employee documentation.
  • Act as the key local HR contact for employees, providing guidance on HR policies, benefits, employment matters and general people-related queries.
  • Manage the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, induction, employee changes and offboarding.
  • Manage employee benefits administration and ensure employees have a positive experience throughout their employment.
  • Support and manage work permits, right-to-work checks and immigration processes.
  • Maintain strong working knowledge of Maltese employment law and HR compliance, ensuring local practices remain compliant.
  • Liaise with relevant Maltese authorities and external partners, including the tax authorities and Jobsplus, where required.
  • Support and manage employee relations matters, providing practical and commercially balanced guidance.
  • Maintain and continuously improve local HR policies, procedures, documentation and processes.
  • Support compensation reviews, reporting, audits and other HR compliance requirements.
  • Ensure employee data and HR records are accurate and appropriately maintained across HR systems.
  • Identify opportunities to improve, simplify and automate HR processes, taking ownership of improvements through to implementation.
  • Partner closely with local and global stakeholders to ensure Malta HR operations remain aligned with wider business and People priorities.
  • Support employee engagement, wellbeing and workplace initiatives as required.

What We Look For In You

  • 3–5+ years of HR experience, ideally with broad ownership across HR operations, payroll and employee lifecycle activities.
  • Strong hands-on experience managing or coordinating Malta payroll.
  • Strong working knowledge of Maltese employment law, payroll requirements and HR compliance.
  • Experience dealing with relevant local authorities, including identita, Jobsplus and Maltese tax authorities.
  • Experience across onboarding, benefits administration, employee relations, work permits and general HR operations.
  • Comfortable working with HRIS and payroll platforms such as BambooHR, Shireburn, ADP or similar systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy, particularly when dealing with payroll and employee data.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Fluent written and spoken English
  • Able to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Proactive and solutions-oriented, with the confidence to identify issues and take ownership without waiting for direction.
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment with a high degree of autonomy.
  • Collaborative and trustworthy, with a strong sense of accountability and ownership.

Nice to Haves

  • Experience within fintech, crypto, iGaming, financial services or another fast-growing/regulated industry.
  • Experience improving or implementing HR processes, systems or automation.
  • Exposure to compensation and benefits analysis and pay transparency requirements.
  • Experience working within an international or global organisation.

Perks & Benefits

  • Competitive total compensation package
  • L&D programs for employees' growth and development
  • Various team building programs and company events
  • Wellness and meal allowances
  • Comprehensive healthcare schemes for employees and dependants
  • More that we love to tell you along the process!
